300 years old Farmhouse with a natural pool, a big garden and a wonderful view over the surrounding vineyards. The house is conveniently and tastefully furnished, the kitchen fully equipped and there several patio's to eat, read, relax..

The space

There's a lot of space in and around the house and families with children are most welcome. The house, as a part of an old farm complex offers privacy and is situated on a hill with a great view over the valley and the alps in the far distance.
There's a big garden and a big natural swimming pool with a separate children's pool (50cm depth) The pool is not fenced, the swimming area is 17m long and 3,5m deep. By nature you'll find frogs in the water and they like to proclaim their presence vocally..
The kitchen ist fully equipped and offers a lot of space to cook. Gas stove, oven, dishwasher, plates, pans... everything is at hand. Towels and bed linen are provided. An spiral staircase (outdors) leads to the upper floor.
There's an open wlan for you to use.
Dogliani, the small town with restaurants, supermercato and local shops, gelateria and the coffeebar on the piazza is a 3 min drive or a 20min walk, the coast (Savona) is about a one hour drive.

Guest access

There are two double beds and a small single bed (for children or smaller persons of max. 1m70) in the two bedrooms in the upper floor. You'll find a large balcony and two terraces to eat, grill and relax.

Interaction with guests

My father lives next door and appreciates the contact with our guests.
My fathers dog "Keel", a male labrador is always very happy to have company and he loves to chase whatever will be thrown for him... he's easy with children and he takes a dip in the pool from time to time.
In the third house lives Malika with her family who looks after the guest house.

Other things to note

The pool, being a natural "pond" has some algae growth and depending on season, heat, rain, usage etc. the water quality can vary. It's an ecological system with waterplants and small animals to clean the water, a pump is circulating it. If needed, the entrance to the swimming area and the children's pool can be cleaned with a water hoover.

The house you'll find a few, but valuable antiques or some design classics. Please treat it with respect. The house offers a great atmosphere, but it being over 300 years old and surrounded by nature means there will be the odd insect finding it's way in the house or a patch of paint might gone off in a corner. We try hard to maintain it and renew things regularly, but if you're looking for an immaculate place, this isn't it.

The setting is absolutely beautiful. The farmhouse itself is very cool. You can tell that th structure is very old, but the living spaces have been updated making it a very functional and comfortable place to stay. The outdoor ares are a big plus too. The town of Dogliani is very close by and a real gem in this part of Italy. The local scene is lively and the regional wine is very good (of course). We would recommend this to friends or family.

The house was a beautiful house in the countryside and a great vacation, suits people who wants calm and recreation. We were a coupple who rented the house for 15 days with our female dog and we all really enjoyed it. The dogs Keel and Primo treated our dog as a queen and we took walks every morning with the three dogs in the surroundings. Especially thanks to your Markus father who took care of us in the best way. His adorable dogs really made our vacation who spent their time with us day and night.

We stayed @ Markus's farm house for 4 days in June. We had a great time at the house. Everything you need in the house is there. Downstairs is a fully stocked kitchen, with dishwasher, nespresso coffee machine, inside dinning table, bluetooth speaker. The kitchen leads to a large living room with fireplace and a very large table, thru a door you can reach the back patio where the charcoal BBQ sits. Coming out of the kitchen is another small patio with a table, and the spiral metal staircase (watch you head) that leads to upstairs to another terrace and the 2 bedrooms with separate outside entrances and a shared bathroom, which is the only bathroom in the house. The house faces south so you have sun the whole day but there are plenty of trees in the huge yard to find shade. The swimming pond sits just to the east of the house, its a natural filter pond, so there are bugs, and fish and frogs all over the place. There was a bit of built up algae on the stone, which can make the water unclear and the stones to be a bit slippery but that is normal for a swimming pond and didn't stop us or our children from enjoying the pond. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea... but you can judge yourself from the pictures. Our dog and kids loved playing with Keel, she comes around in the morning or whenever you drive up. I would say a car is a must for this place as it may only be 3km out of town its sits atop a long hill. Also it he house is close to many nice towns and winery's. Overall we had a great stay, Markus responded quickly to our questions and his farther was kind enough to show us around. The place is to highly recommend and if we head head back to Piedmont, we would look to a stay here again.

We had a lovely long weekend in Dogliani. The house was beautiful. Simple but comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor pool was fantastic. The kids loved it, frogs and fish included, and it was deep enough for proper swimming and diving. The setting was just right. It felt private and secluded but was within easy reach of the town and local amenities. And lovely views. Lucius was very helpful when we arrived. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!

Great home in a beautiful environment in a nice little town. We stayed in autumn so it was a little chilly, but the heaters worked well. Communication with Marcus was good. We would love to come back sometime in summer!

We had a fabulous time. The house and location are beautiful. Everything you need is available in the house. Large kitchen and bedrooms are perfect. Swimming pond was great for some necessary cooling down. Our dog like it too. Markus supplied all kind of additional information and, though not on site, very helpful. Highly recommend!
