The Space

- Lovely Loire valley country home -

A light comfortable home in Doue La Fontaine - the rose growing capital of France. You are only 20 mins from stunning Saumur and the Loire river, 40 mins from Angers and 60 mins from the big city of Tours.
The 2 bedrooms face onto the gardens and are approx 300 x 430 and 360 x 430.
There is a large garden in a beautiful and peaceful area with fields of sunflowers and roses all around, in season. Doue has all the main facilities, troglodyte caves and a famous eco-zoo. We are English speaking. Katie is a Cordon Bleu cook.
A tranquil and safe area.
The area is excellent for cycling, for walks, for wine tasting, horse riding and for viewing the chateaux . Historic commune of Chinon is not far away with its famous medieval castle. Unwind in this central gentle area.
Also available a TV and an Internet connexion. Table tennis. Free phone calls to North America and Europe. You can see more on the website : (website hidden)

  • We had a great time staying with Malcolm and Katie. The house is in excellent conditions. Moreover, the area is perfect if you want to visit the castles nearby (Chinon, Saumur, Angers, etc) with many small roads decorated with sunflower and rose fields.

Malcolm and Katie are terrific hosts. They are very open, helpful and friendly. Also, do not hesitate to include at least one meal with them in your plans. Katie is an incredible cook!

About
I have worked extensively in the publishing business in the UK and North America and have recently retrained to teach English to foreign students. I like current affairs, history, music and travel. Last year I published a magazine on Shakespeare. My wife Katie is a really good & enthusiastic cordon bleu trained cook and loves to learn new recipe ideas. She has worked in Scotland, England and Denmark. She also likes teddy bears! We are now enjoying living in France and welcome meeting new guests.
