About This Listing
Formerly a fisherman’s cottage, this single story beach house has been very cleverly renovated to create the perfect get-away for those seeking to relax.
Located just 15 minutes from Bodrum, near to Guvercinlik, the house has its own entrance onto the beach and sleeps up to 4 people.
Designed to be completely open plan, there are full sea views from nearly every room. The sleeping area is curtained off and has a double bed, air conditioning and a TV for a DVD player. The fully fitted kitchen has a dishwasher, Fridge/freezer, hob (with 4 gas rings), an electric oven with a grill, electric kettle, toaster, microwave and a wrought iron wood burner. In the utility room there is a washing machine and iron. The bathroom is not part of the open plan and has a wet room with a sunken shower. A hairdryer and beach towels are also provided. A 3g wireless internet unit will be available but this is extra, 70 TL for 4 GB.
The back of the beach house completely opens up onto the terrace from the dining and living room area. There is a very comfortable double sofa bed suitable for 2 adults and a dining table that seats 6.
The terrace overlooking the beach is very spacious and has a built in BBQ, sofa, 4 sun loungers and an eating area to dine alfresco. There are steps from the terrace leading directly onto the beach.
Also included is a starter welcome pack of Nescafe, tea, milk, sugar, a 5L bottle of water, soap and toilet roll.
Due to the design of the house we do not accept children under the age of 10.
A car is recommended but not necessary. Just a short 2 minute walk will take you to the main road where there are local buses going into Bodrum, every 10-15 minutes. There is a private gated parking area in front of the house.
Bodrum airport is just 15 minutes away and private transfers and welcome packs can be arranged. The nearest shops are located in the village of Guvercinlik, which can also be reached by local bus in 5 minutes.
A visit to Bodrum Town centre is highly recommended. Local sights to see in Bodrum Town Centre are the Mausoleum (one of the 7 wonders of the world), Bodrums famous Castle of St. Peter, within the grounds include a Museum of Underwater Archaeology and hosts several cultural festivals throughout the year. There is also the renovated amphitheatre, which is the summer hot spot for concerts and dance shows.

This is a beautiful beach house with a gorgeous view of the blue blue sea. My friends and I love the transparent large doors of the house which allowed us an unobscured view of the sea at all times. The only view we didn't like was the unfinished construction just beside the house.
The place is secluded and may be difficult to find if you do not speak the language or drive. Fortunately, the locals are very friendly and it also helps that the driving instructions Karen left us were clear and we were able to tell the taxi driver where to turn.
We were blessed with sunshine on our first day but got some dark clouds & rain on the 2nd. It was only then that we realized the water heater was generated by a solar panel so there was no hot water for showers that day. My friends and I were glad that the following days were sunny.
Getting to bustling Bodrum town centre from the house was fairly simple via the local mini buses (Dolmus), however getting back after it turns dark can be a challenge as there are no street lights on the main roads and you can only rely on the bus driver to drop you off at the correct place. On the return journey, it can be confusing as there's a sign with the same street name as the one leading to the beach house about 10 minutes before where you actually need to stop. This would be alright if it was in the day but at night, everything looks a little different, you have to cross the road in the dark and cars zoomed by quite quickly. (there is also no pavement, you walk alongside the same road as the cars.) We recommend getting back to the beach house before dark. (We were there in winter so had shorter days & longer nights.)
We spent a large amount of our time just lazing in the house. It is the sort of house that allows you to do just that. There is a fully equipped kitchen which we enjoyed using, some DVDs / CDs and a shelf of books to choose from. A kitty cat may also come by to keep you company.
It is a lovely place to chill and relax. My friends and I loved the place, the views and really can't bear to leave.
This is the most peaceful relaxing place to stay. Beautiful views, and waking up to the scenery every morning was pure bliss. If you're looking for a quiet break to recharge this is the place. Would also recommend car hire as the local village is difficult to get to otherwise, no footpaths there and apartment is a lane off the dual carriage way making it difficult for taxis to find especially if you cannot speak the language. Other than that the apartment is a pretty beach house and we really enjoyed our time here.
WOW! What a perfect little place this is. A real home from home!
The beach house is beautifully decorated & has a large modern kitchen with all mod cons- there is everything you could possibly need there for a relaxing break (we even went home with clean clothes!)
Its truly an awesome place. You awake to the sounds of the sea lapping on the shore& step outside to your private terrace overlooking a secluded beach with panoramic views of a clean blue ocean. We were also visited by a very cute tabby cat every day who sat with us while we read books on the terrace (that we nicknamed "Pipsqueak") What more could you ask for??
You ideally need a car to get around as its very secluded but the directions to the house were easy to follow so we found it easily. Its far enough away from the touristy crowd in Bodrum to be peaceful & private, but close enough to run into town for supplies - about a 10 minute drive.
We stayed for a week at the end of October & still had 28 degree sunshine every day - many nearby restaurants have closed for the winter already at that time but Karen was really helpful in making suggestions for us. We also bought fresh fish & ate at the beach house a couple of nights too which was just as lovely (there's a good oven & an outside patio BBQ) - and when it got too chilly to sit outside in the evening we worked our way through their extensive film collection on dvd.
We loved it & didn't want to leave!
Karen is very attentive and responsive person, she helped us solve any problems. Very cozy and beautiful home. Suitable for relaxation. Sea when quiet, very clean. Sometimes, when a strong wind blows, on the beach and in the sea a lot of garbage, but when the wind is over, there comes a beautiful morning. In the house come very cute cats that adorn life in this house.
Will definitely return to this house again.
Lovely place. Incredible sunset views out towards Torba. Really well appointed inside, with big screen tv and DVD selection. Even a bunch of english books.
Thanks for looking after us.
What an amazing place! We spent a blissful 6 nights here in early Sept. It's very calm and private - ideal for chilling out and relaxing. The setup is great - fantastic, modern house, but it's best suited to alfresco living. And with that water - so clear and blue - just below the deck, why wouldn't you want to spend all your time outside!
A couple of things to note: first, unless you're only arriving and then leaving, and not planning to leave the house in between, I'd say having a car is a must. There are the local dolmuses (buses) which are fine to get into town with, but getting back is tricky, especially at night. Be aware you will need to take most things with you - enough water and toilet paper to last your stay, for example - and there's a TV, but there's no signal; it's just for DVDs. Also consider taking a small portable music player if you'd like to play some tunes.
Karen herself is a wonderful host; friendly, provided all the information needed, and - best of all - extremely responsive. Often I'd send a message and have an answer back in less than 10 minutes. Wonderful! We'd love to come back!
We had an amazing time in this wonderful retreat by the Mediterranean. It really is a luxury space. Would highly recommend it for a relaxing peaceful holiday. A great way to recharge the batteries.
