Our cozy Merla is a "room with a view" and has a breathtaking panorama of the French border. Each of our rooms have private entrances and ensuite bathrooms. Our small inn is nestled in the surrounding pine and chestnut forrest, with a few neighboring holiday homes. All rooms have free WiFi internet. Our abundant home made breakfast features our hand made artisan bread, jams, and pastries. We offer seasonal fruit and fresh yogurt, and cereal accompanied with tea or coffee and is included in the nightly price for 2 people. As we are both former chefs, we want to promote our local specialties by offering family style 3 course evening meals through our "Ecologically Sustainable Touristic-TEM" association. We feature what's in season and produced locally. You can arrange or join our market tour and cooking class and learn how to make pasta like a nonna. We have several walks in our neighborhood that go up to the peak for 360* views or down to our river that has charming bridges and mysterious atmosphere from days gone by, as well as strolls in the neighborhood. Torino is a little over an hour away, there is the largest "Fenestrelle" fortress in Europe, charming small villages, and day outings to a small castle or grand abbey all under 2 hours away. Wer wissen will, wie im Piemont richtig gut gegessen und getrunken wird, ist genau richtig in der Bella Baita! Merla und Fabricio sind tolle Gastgeber - mit den anderen Gästen zusammen gibt es eine super Atmosphäre. Man sollte etwas englisch sprechen können. Die Umgebung ist sehr reizvoll zum Erwandern von Bergen und Tälern des Piemont - auch direkt vom Haus aus.
American former pastry chef married to Fabrizio, a local Italian man, whom is also a former chef and restaurant manager. We are hosting a few rooms in his family's original home in the Piemontese Alps. We established T.E.M. association to preserve and promote sustainable ecological tourism that features local cuisine and culture. We work together with local producers, artisans and our community to showcase all our, "off the beaten path" and very deserving, area has to offer. I have a passion for culinary experiences, all mountain activities and natural beauty as well as reading and traveling even when I am unable to physically get to all the wonderful places there are to vist in the world.
