----- IMPORTANT NOTES -----
Please note that our house is shared between at least 5 and up guests at the same time. Bathrooms and common spaces are shared. But yet the house is very calm because everybody is out all the time in the city!
Please note also that we don't live there anymore because we have our own private appartments, and because this place has become with time our job. We rent on Airbnb and we also develop in the walls of this house an Art Center since two years. So please note that during your stay it might happen that you have the chance to participate in an artistic event. We are aiming toward making live Montréal's culture itself to our tenants.
If you feel this experience is for you, jump in, you will never have experienced somthing like our place!
----- MEET THE HOUSE! -----
Lamps and weird knick-knacks dwelling with antique furniture and cosy sofas, torn tapestries, crooked hardwood floors and squeaking steps and doors makes all the charm and the warmth of the place. Built in the end of 19th century, The house has been preserved from aging, but in respect of its past, which makes the place very "storytelling"...
Amongst many vocations this place had, we keep artefacts from a past Chinese food restaurant and a retro women's clothes shop. Other non house-related artefacts fill the house. Discover all this while coming to our place in Montreal. And ask one of your hosts to translate what the walls and objects don't tell clearly to everyone...

We stayed in the large room on the main floor. I really appreciated the artsy bohemian style of the house, but it was very dirty (kitchen, floors, electrical) and there were some security issues (lock on our door consisted of 2 gym locker type locks). If the locks were improved and the house was tidied up better, I would highly recommend it. Until then....
The apartment was very nice and comfortable. Loved its retro decor. Its central location near Berri-UQAM station makes travelling around Montreal by subway very convenient. If you prefer to walk, St Denis is just a few streets away and you can walk along it to appreciate the nightlife and even be a part of it.
So, we finally stumble upon this hidden door right in the middle of the village and get inside....and the place is AWESOME! I have to admit, at first I was a little weary that we might be staying in a huge room with a bunch of strangers but that wasn't the case at all. We had our own space, and it was huge - nearly the size of my whole apartment. The whole place had tons of character, and there were even friendly people staying there at the time. It was also especially nice for a member of the LGBT community because it's smack dab in the middle of Le Village. We parked around the corner, and were able to walk to not only our chosen nightclub spot but also breakfast in the morning. The only thing I'd change about my experience there on New Years would be to stay another night or two hehe definitely staying there the next time I'm in Montreal :)
This truly is a HUGE artsy loft, my husband and I had a great time hanging out in the spacious environment. The huge metal sliding door is a bit heavy but I quickly got the hang of it. We have told several friends about this Montreal gem.
The location was easy to find and Michael was very helpful and accommodating. We had access to the kitchen and a fridge and the washroom was close by. It is a great space to stay meet others who are friendly and traveling world-wide and the location is certainty central. It reminded me of my 20s and sleeping in art studios and overnights on friend's couches (not a bad thing as it breeds a more relaxed space). The room we had was huge but the windows could be opened.... very stuffy and could be unbearable in the summer months but for one night it was fine. We had one towel for the two of us so perhaps better to bring your own (i was told we could get another but it never materialized) and I resorted to using throw pillows from the living room as there were none on my bed.....but hey such is life..... all in all just fine.
This stay was great for our needs as a large group looking to pay as little as possible. The house was clean relative to the amount of people staying there and the company in other housemates was great. The location was amazing and cannot be beat and is extremely close to metro, restaurants and bars. All in all worked great for our large group and would highly recommend and stay again !!
This unique loft is perfectly situated for short term stays in Montreal, all the hosts and guests were super friendly and easy going. Noemie & Michael were very quick to respond to any questions, couldn't fault anything!
Thanks again guys!
Appartement génial : superbe déco et une bonne ambiance
accueil parfait par Alexia, qui nous a donné quelques conseils pour visiter la ville .
l'appartement ce situe dans une rue tres animée du centre ville de montreal ce fut parfait pour nous!
je recommande +++
Very unique and lovely share space. The bedrooms and kitchen are kept very clean and have everything you need. Room is a bit stuffy because of the warm weather so we kept our very cool sliding door open sometimes and electrical fans on. Other than that, everything is great and we all love how big and bright the studio is. Location is perfect. Will visit again!
The apartment is amazing - so huge. Thank you for being so accommodating to our seemingly constant schedule and number of guests changes.
Excellent location, amazing people, and a wonderful opportunity to meet other interesting people. We will definitely stay here again.
