Grandpa Sullivan built this house with his own hands and we trust that anyone who rents our home will not smoke inside or misuse it in any way. There is wood in the back of the house to build a fire in the wood stove, but we also have oil heat. If you use the heat, please turn it down when you leave for the day.

Britt was a great host. The house was exactly as described and perfect for a weekend away in VT. Everything was at described and I would not ask for a better host.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The light was on and we made a fire in the morning that kept us warm along with the electric when it was 20 below off and on for a few days. The atmosphere was like a cabin in Scandinavia and my partner is from Norway so he really enjoyed it. We decided not to wait for the plow and shoveled for exercise and also skied locally and around the neighborhood. We saved at least $200 by cooking meals and enjoyed the local spots when we went out. It was a short drive to town. I would go back again!
Our stay at this cabin was quite lovely. It was exactly as pictured. The bed could have been more comfortable but we would go back despite that. There is very little cell phone service which made for a nice quiet weekend. We were able to pick up some service on our hot spot when needed. The place was immaculate. 10 minutes to the slopes at Okemo and main street Ludlow. Word of the wise though, if you come during the winter and it snows make sure you have a car with all well drive. It's hard to get up the hills back to the house without it. Brittain was very easy to work with and answered back quickly anytime we needed her. We would absolutely stay again.
We spent 3 days and had a wonderful time in the chalet. The place was cozy and clean and had everything we needed. As the description mentions, there is no phone service or Internet, but this allowed us to unplug and relax. Great skiing nearby at Okemo and Killington is also a big plus! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
The space was absolutely amazing. It was exactly as advertised and gave us a true taste of Vermont. It was really simple to get the key and get into the space. Although nothing came up, Brittain and her family were very responsive to any questions we had. Just be aware that there is no wifi/tv and cell phone service is pretty sparse!
Cute, cozy and quiet - wildflowers, hummingbirds and woodpeckers - exactly what we were looking for! Britt was communicative and provided great directions. The only thing slightly askew was that there was pet fur on the sofa and the the living room rug which began to irritate the boyfriend's allergies a bit. Nonetheless, we would stay again - but with Zyrtec!
We had a great time being in the middle of “nowhere”, yet only 2 minutes off the highway, and five outside of Ludlow. Altogether the apt. was cozy. The bed was comfortable and there was adequate closet and hanger space. We loved having a kitchen that allowed us to have breakfasts at our convenience. The living room space was OK; it was summer so we didn’t avail ourselves of the potbelly fireplace. The interior photos are accurate. The best part was the beautiful setting and the outside grounds that we used for morning reading and yoga. The quiet and privacy alone were worth it; however we do have three cautions:
While the entire house looks like the perfect mountain retreat, and the pictures highlight the upper log portion and front balcony - so you’re not disappointed - remember that, like the description states, you only get the downstairs apartment. You can, however, access the backside upper deck, and no one else is there when you are. Secondly, the hot water capacity is on the small size. Luckily, it was summer. And finally, on our last evening, we saw 3 mice running between the living room and kitchen. But, then again, this is a cabin in the woods!
