Great for a couple looking to escape the city to a cozy mountain retreat and enjoy Vermont's winter playground!
2 miles to Jackson Gore, 5 Miles to Okemo Mountain and town of Ludlow where you can find lots of little restaurants, grocery store, ski/snowboard rentals, and boutiques.
We had a lovely weekend at this very cozy chalet. It is convenient to Okemo, where we were chaperoning a ski trip. If you are looking for a place to relax and disconnect you will find it here. The hosts could not have been nicer and more welcoming. Although you could probably squeeze 3 in, it was just right for a couple. We chaperone this trip every year and will definitely look to rent here again.
We had a nice time in Vermont.
Okemo was just 15 min away from the chalet and the conditions were good. Killington is about 40 min away and a great hill.
We picked up groceries in town and cooked most of the meals. The nearby town has a few restaurants as well, but no wild après after the day on the hills.
The accommodation at the chalet was true to the description and we had a comfortable stay. We really enjoyed the wood stove. With no TV, wifi or decent radio reception it was a truly quiet vacation as we wanted. Thank you.
My girlfriend and I had a great time during our stay here. The finished lower level of this cabin was beautifully done and holds a rustic charm. The all-wood floors and ceiling gives the cabin a natural feel, while the wood stove adds a fiery element to create a wild yet cozy atmosphere. The cabin includes most necessities: cooking ware, towels, and an old record/radio/tape stereo system.
The location of the cabin is just outside of the nearest town, Ludlowe, and just down the road from Okemo. Ludlowe provides plenty of eating options and is worth becoming acquainted with. Other than Okemo, most other attractions are a bit of a drive away. But that's no problem if your visiting during fall, because the drives are beautiful with the colored leaves.
I highly recommend this cabin for a vacation to Vermont for two. I don't think you can go wrong with it if you are skiing at Okemo and are looking for a nice, quiet place to relax.
A great host, a lovely getaway house. Thanks!
Great spot to get away. Really quaint. Would happily go there again. Super close to Okemo. Close to Killington too. Both good ski spots for Vermont. Be prepared for no cellular service.
The chalet was great- quaint, perfectly clean, and just a short drive to the slopes. This is a great place to get away for a long weekend. Brittain was overly accommodating, and I hope to return soon.
We had a great extended weekend in this quiet, lovely home near Mt. Okemo. The wood burning stove was going the whole weekend. :-) Thanks!
My husband and I are from the Netherlands and decided to go on a winter roadtrip, visiting friends in PA, NY state and NYC. We are absolute wintersports fanatics so added a few days in Vermont as well to go snowboarding. We chose this apartment because it seemed so cozy on the pictures, and the location was great for visiting several skiing areas. When we arrived at the apartment, it was already dark. So nice that the heating was already on and Brittain's grandparents even switched on some small candelike lights in de windowsills. Quite a warm welcome!
We really enjoyed the cozy apartment, it is so quiet: perfect to get away from daily life. It is on the ground floor of a lovely little chalet which reminded us from chalets in the European Alps, where we usually go skiing. From the apartment, we drove to Okemo ski resort (very close, around 5-10 min drive), Killington (about 25 min if you take the Skyeship gondola) and Stratton (60 min). We had a great time on the slopes and afterwards: we lit on the woodstove. Well-equipped kitchen: no dishwasher but doing the dishes by hand is actually a great way to catch up together ;-)
If you like coziness, quietness and warmth combined with wintersports: book this apartment! Should be great in summertime too though!
Thank yo very much to the hosts! We really enjoyed our stay there! The house is very cozy, everything is nicely decorated and super clean and convenient. This is a nice place for a romantic get away. Convenient location, 5 minutes drive to Okemo Mountain, 20 minutes to Pico. Highly recommend this place!
We decided to take a last minute trip up to the mountains for some skiing and relaxation before the hustle and bustle of the holidays started, and this trip provided exactly what we were looking for and more. Since the location is easily accessible to a few mountains, we spent a day at Okemo and ventured out the next day to PICO (sister mountain to Kiillington) for some afternoon runs. After a day of skiing, this cottage provided a great place to unwind by sitting by the fire and enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal while listening to an album on the record player. If you aren't up for cooking, Harry's down the road provides delicious take out! This place surely lives up to its title as a "quiet getaway". It is a picturesque cottage that offers a relaxing atmosphere to unwind from life, especially by having no access to phone or internet service. After this short trip, we felt refreshed and ready to start the holidays. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place to getaway!
