The Space

LONG TERM RENTALS WELCOME! Contact me for special rates!

About the apartment:
NOTE: All towels, linens, and everything else you could be looking fore are included in the price! No need to pack your own as I'm happy to provide plenty throughout your stay.

-1 bedroom apartment in a condo-furnished, East Village apartment. Bedroom comfortably sleeps two on a queen size comfort top mattress.

-Living room: Space for an airbed (supplied) for 1, possibly 2 additional people. Beautiful, comfortable leather couch with space to sprawl out.

-TV: Premium cable access on 46'' flat screen with full cable in surround sound.

-Internet/WiFi: Will give out secure password; Works throughout the apartment at 20mbps (for those who need Internet access all the time, like me!)

-NEW: Custom-made desk and Herman-Miller Eames Executive chair - Work comfortably from the apartment whenever you want.

-Roof Deck Access: Free access to one of the best views in the East Village!

Neighborhood: The apartment is on (email hidden) - You'll be staying on "the strip" so to say of the East Village with plenty of amazing restaurants and bars, many of which are open 24 hours. It is just a few blocks away from the vibrant LES with trendy nightclubs and bars. Worried about noise? Don't! The apartment faces West and gets great sunlight with a wall of windows and the building is quiet enough to hear a pin drop.

-Dishwasher & Full Kitchen: In case you decide to order in or cook yourself. Not something that you find in many apartments in this neighborhood.

-Smoking is allowed (though I don't smoke): As the apartment is thoroughly cleaned, I do allow smoking. However please be respectful and crack a window and use good judgement. You can't smoke indoors anywhere in New York City, so this is a huge benefit to anyone who doesn't want to go stand outside in the cold!

-Transportation & Location: 3-4 blocks to subway to 3 major subway lines so you don't need to go far to get around the city. Also, you're in the middle of the East Village so local neighborhoods aren't far away:
-SoHo (shopping and more!): 10 min walk
-Lower East Side (LES): 5 min walk
-Union Square: 10-15 min walk

-Parking: Plenty of street parking available or in a nearby lot.

-Other questions? Just ask! I've been hosting for some time now and thoroughly enjoy it. I love to share my home with travelers (or people who just want a change of pace for a while) from around the world.

Guest Access

-Shared roof deck with grill access.
-WiFi throughout the apartment
-T.V. with premium cable.

My home is your home when you book with me, so you're welcome to everything from more towels and linens for longer stays to spices in the kitchen.

Interaction with Guests

The apartment is yours. I'll meet you to give you keys and walk you through the apartment so that you understand how to use the WiFi, shower, and answer any questions you may have.

After that, I'm more than happy to do what I can to help you during your stay! However, the apartment is yours, so don't worry about me intruding. Many questions can be answered by a phone call, email, or text.

The Neighborhood

I've lived in the East Village of NYC for over 14 years and love it. I've watched it grow and change.

Just step outside the apartment and you'll be surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. You don't need to go far to "experience" the East Village and I'm happy to pass along my favorite recommendations.

Getting around

-5 blocks to the subway.
-Street parking available, otherwise there is a lot down the street.
-Airport: Often the best way is to take a taxi, it is NYC after all!

Other Things to Note

Please observe the Golden Rule: Please treat my home as you would your own. I am a frequent user of AirBnB myself and will continue to use it as long as everyone treats one another and their homes' with respect.

  • This rental experience went extremely well. Our host, Anthony, got back to us quickly with all of the information that we would need to get into his apartment and enjoy our stay. Though he was out of town, he got us in touch with his sister Amanda who became our contact person in NY. She was there when we arrived to let us in, show us around, and give us the keys. The room was just as it was pictured. By NY standards it was quite spacious and comfortable. Though the bedroom closet is still full with Anthony's belongings, there is a large empty and attractive cabinet unit in the entry foyer with plenty of hanging and drawer space for guests. The kitchen is well stocked.
The best part of the experience was the location. We have travelled to NYC many times and find that hotels are not located in desirable neighborhoods and are very expensive. Anthony's place in the East Village provides one with the benefits of staying in a livable neighborhood surrounded by restaurants, bars, a beautiful park, and easy access to public transportation. And, though it is in the heart of an active neighborhood, it is extremely quiet at night.

    Response from Anthony:

    Gracias, Gemma!

  • We absolutely loved Anthony's apartment. It's super well located but quiet at the same time (yes, hard to find in the heart of NYC!), clean, bright and well organized. The check-in/check-out process was very smooth with Amanda, who was great to meet. We would love to stay there again! Thanks Amanda!

    Response from Anthony:

Thanks, Chirine! I'm glad that you enjoyed your time. And yes, it's difficult to have a good location, but still have a quiet "home" to return to in the evening and get a good night sleep!

    Response from Anthony:

J'espère vous revoir à New York!

  • Thank you very much indeed - both Anthony and Amanda - for your always friendly and helpful support and very quick replies to all our questions as yet inexperienced Airbnb-members - although Anthony was in Thailand at the time. Amanda was very accommodating and had everything ready when we arrived at the apartment and also was very flexible with her time schedule (although she had about an hour travelling time to the place) and also allowing us to leave our bags late so we could enjoy our trip until the last minute. The apartment was in a very good condition just as you can see from the pictures and as described. The location is perfect if you want to explore Manhattan (we have even rented a bike from just around the corner). Everything you need is in walking distance (restaurants, bars, grocery). Again thank you very much - we hope to have a chance to rent this place again at our next visit! We can recommend this place to anyone.

Thanks, Hannele! Please do feel free to come back to visit anytime!

  • Anthony's apartment was exactly as it is showed at the photo. It was my first time in East Village, and I loved it, there are many cafés and restaurants around. The building's elevator was specially important for my parents. I also have have to mention Amanda, that has been very nice and was always there, everytime I phoned or messaged her. Thanks, Anthony and Amanda!

  • Thank you Anthony for letting my daughter and I stay at your place during my visit to New York! Amanda was very accommodating in your absence. She had your apartment ready for us by time we came back from exploring. Allowing me to drop my bags early so that we could explore without dragging them along was very kind of you! Your personal recommendations for things we wanted to do were very helpful and very much appreciated. The location was perfect for getting around the city by any means of choice. I would definitely recommend anyone who would like a "New Yorker" perspective of life in the city to stay at Anthony's over an overpriced, mundane hotel! Thanks again Anthony! :)

  • We spent 9 days in Anthony´s place and it was absolutely perfect.
Anthony and Amanda were very helpful, best tourist-support with a lot of great advices and, of course, a very nice location in the heart of East-Village.

I would always recommend them to anyone who wants to have a smooth trip to NYC. Awesome, very enjoyable.

    Thanks Anthony! :-)

  • Great location, nice place. Anthony and Amanda were very accommodating. Even though I booked last minute, they bent over backward to get me settled in at a time that worked for my schedule.

World traveler based in NYC and equally passionate about working in online marketing. If I'm not here in NYC, I'm most likely in another country, pursuing my passion of traveling the world. I now use AirBnB almost exclusively myself when traveling. Because of this, I try and leave the apartment along with maps, guidebooks, etc. for your use. This is my home and I take great pride in it... at the same time, help yourself to anything you find in the fridge (you just may find something I brought back from my last trip in the refrigerator). If there is any thing I can help you with during your stay, just ask! I've lived in this neighborhood for 14+ years and know many of the local places along with how to access cheap theatre tickets, attractions, and more.
