Nicolas and Kit were great hosts and they were very friendly, easy-going guys! I had a lot of fun during my stay. I wish I could've spent more time there..
I will recommend this place!
It was a very unique experiance staying there! I really liked the artistic style and the rooftop. Also the metro is very near the hostel. Nico was also very kind and helpful. It's a good place to meet also new traveller. The only thing I didnt like there was sometimes the heat, but otherwise it was a cool place!!
It's a warm place to stay and location is amazing. I'm truly impressed with the view from the rooftop and timeworn streetscape around. There are many of famous restaurants and snacks in the nearby region, too. Nick is a really nice host with great hospitality, sadly I missed the BBQ party since I'm too busy to meet some local friends. I will definitely choose here for my future stay in Hong Kong.
An amazing experience.
Nicholas and Kit are both equally courteous hosts.
The roof is a good place to unwind and relax after a long day exploring Hong Kong. Plenty of good food around and extremely near to a MRT station.
Although the 9 floors of stairs seems daunting but I made it through for 7 days. Good way to burn off all the yummy food through the day.
That was amazing. There lives great people which ready to help you. Also don't miss a barbecue on the rooftop. Nicolas's chocolate bananas was good.
All I can say is wow! The guys that run this place are absolutely incredible and friendly and the other guests were really fun. My girlfriend and I stayed at Tin Tong for 4 nights during the Chinese New Year celebrations in Hong Kong; we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. In the middle of Sham Shui Po market, a bustling yet rustic side of Hong Kong, Tin Tong is conveniently located next to a subway line. The location is also a fantastic way to discover a sense of what Hong Kong is really like outside of the island. If you don't mind the 9 story hike up the stairs to the hostel, the view provides a really interesting view of the market below and the slum-like buildings in the area. It's also important to know that Tin Tong isn't a conventional hostel; it's basically a giant room with 6 bunks, littered with tons of trinkets and walls covered with messages from previous guests. There is an extra private room with a queen sized bed and a rooftop where some guests can sleep in tents. Some days, the hosts and guests will gather together and have barbecues on the rooftop at night as well, which are really fun!
The hosts, Kit and Nicholas, are extremely friendly and will soon become some of your best friends. They're also incredibly helpful.
All in all - this is an excellent place for backpackers on a budget, with an open and friendly attitude, looking for a real hostel experience in a poor(er) part of Hong Kong.
