Other Things to Note
A variety of explanations account for the origin of the hamlet's name. One explanation associates it with a murder which took place in 1904 at a dairy farm situated on the flats of the Bow River. Francois Marret stood trial in Calgary for killing his brother Jean, whose body he had disposed of in the Bow River, but the jury acquitted him by reason of insanity. Another account states that two or three First Nations people who were illegally trapping beaver noticed a warden approaching in the distance. Knowing that they did not have time to flee without being spotted, they smeared themselves with beaver blood and pretended to be dead. The warden, fooled by their deception, ran for help. Meanwhile the trappers took their beaver pelts and escaped. This account is regarded as dubious; for example, no known description of this incident appears in the official wardens' reports.

Makhbool made us feel welcomed by leaving snacks and water bottles for us which was very much appreciated. The listing described was very accurate and the pictures were very helpful.
Having a young family meant we loved the quiet neighborhood.
Good place to stay. Apartment was clean and tidy and well presented. Makhbool was super quick in responding and giving info. Thanks!
Our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. The place is very tidy, clean and has all the necessary items available. We really loved the location also as it is about a 5 to 10 minute drive to canmore and very quiet. Makhbool was wonderful in being there should we have needed anything at aĺl. Thanks very much for having us :-)
Had an amazing time at Makhbool's place! It's spacious and tastefully decorated and well maintained, and the kitchen is pretty well equipped. The bed is really comfy with plenty of pillows/blankets. Nice and close to Canmore and Banff as well! Makhbool was great in helping to resolve some confusion that arose with AirBnb's billing system and is a really nice guy to boot. Will definitely stay again next time I'm in the Rockies!
We truly enjoyed our stay. Makhbool was really helpful and tough we didn't meet him, he was easy to reach via texts and cellular phone. His place was perfect for the three of us. It was very clean, well furnished and well located. I would recommend this place.
Makhbool was a great host, everything listed was exactly as described. And he gave us very thorough information regarding the suite prior to our arrival, which was quite helpful.
The accommodations were great, just a 7min drive from Canmore, and the hot tub was a delight with the mountains peaking high into the sky, just perfect.
Our host called us on our check-in day to ensure our arrival, and was available for a phone call if we ever needed something during our stay.
Makhbool's place was comfy, clean and as described in the airbnb description. It's a 10min drive away from Canmore, so a car is highly recommendable. The hot tub is great. The only complaint is the WIFI that is superslow, so using mobile data is the better option. Makhbool tried to fix it, but it may depend on how many people use the internet.
All in all, we had a nice stay at this place. :-)
