Family run guesthouse, some rooms with shared bathroom and 6 rooms with attached bathroom with hot water. We offer breakfast eastern and western breakfast and dinner (not included). My wife does the cooking and you are welcome to take a free Sri Lankan cooking lesson. We offer WIFI and internet facilities also, plus travel advise (buses and trains).
Uva's symbolic mountain is Namunukula which stands tallest among the mountain range surrounding the Badulla town. One can get spectacular views of Welimada basin, Katharagama and Hambantota beach from Namunukula peak on a clear day. The views of sun rise and sun set are magnificent too.
Haputale mountain range has its tallest, peak Kirigalpottha. Haputale-Beragala gap gives a splendid view of the Southern and Sabaragamuwa provinces on a clear day.
Haputale is a city in Uva, in the central mountain area of Sri Lanka. It's a relaxed little place with about 5000 inhabitants.
Was not worth the price, address was sent to us a day after we had already arrived, the only directions supplied were "five minutes from train station" and the phone number supplied was for someone in Colombo! Very frustrating for both us and the tuk-tuk driver.
ABC Guesthouse Inn is laying near the centre of Haputale, but still quiet and you have a very beautiful view to the tea fields. Our room was nice and clean. The whole family was very open minded and welcoming. We got some very good meals there, and got a free cooking course, where we learned to cook Sri Lankan food. We had a good conversation with Saman about the life in Sri Lanka. We can fully recommend to visit ABC Guesthouse Inn
Nice place with great view. Saman's family are really kind and helpful.
I recommend you all this place :)
Good place with very amazing view from balcony.I can recommend this guest house.
We arrived at Hapatale by bus and we a little overwhelmed by tuk tuk drivers & touts. But as usual they helped us find the ABC guesthouse. The short walk from town was a little grubby, but once there, there standard of accom and food was great, comfortable and very friendly. We had a couple of great experiences, learning Sri Lanka card games with the owners children, backyard cricket from our balcony, and when the clouds were right, the sunset views were amazing. The father was a great help in planning and organising our visit to Horton plains and onward travel, and the mother made great food including a packed breakfast for our early start.
I think the rooms with a balcony didn’t have a private bathroom. We choose the balcony which paid off with the nice weather.
A very good place to stay in Hapudale and Saman was extremely helpful when we needed to reshedule our journey due to heavy rainfalls and gave us valuable recommendations. I can also highly recommend the food at this guesthouse. The rooms were according to the provided discription with a large terasse and nice view.
The owner was very hospitable. In this gesthouse lives a good family with childrens of all ages. The building of several floors. At the first restaurant. The rooms are small, but the basic amenities. But the rooms need at least cosmetic repairs. We went to the little room with blue walls. Does not look good(. But we have seen that in the next room just been refurbished and the walls were white. In general after the repair will be a great place! Would recommend this place as a temporary intermediate staying that would travel around the tea plantations and other attractions. From Haputtali very convenient for 1200 rupees to get to Lipto's Seat to a height of 2500 meters.
