This historic home houses the only museum dedicated to Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald. The Fitzgeralds lived here from 1931 until 1932, writing portions of their respective novels, "Save Me The Waltz" and "Tender Is The Night". The downstairs now houses the Fitzgerald Museum, and the upstairs is now home to two separate suites. As we are a historic home, there are some limitations on modernizing the home with contemporary amenities. If you require those, this may not be the suite for you.

The space
The one bedroom apartment features a full kitchen and bath. The master bedroom includes a queen sized bed featuring Fitzgerald bedding by SisCovers. There is a separate living room, dining room, all with views of the sprawling magnolia tree on the front lawn. The original wallpaper is exposed in the living room and bedroom. Guests have access to a complimentary tour of the museum, located in the downstairs portion of the historic Lockwood home. We have no TVs, but you will have WiFi.

Guest access
Please be considerate of other guests across the hall. This is not a shared space, but a completely separate apartment.

Please use the front entrance to access your suite. Each suite has a rear exit, but because the staircase is steep and has limited lighting at night, should be used as an emergency exit only.

Other things to note
The house is a historic home built in 1910 with the bathrooms added in 1930. They are smaller than contemporary bathrooms, tubs and showers.

There is no TV. You will have WiFi.

The Scott Suite has the original wallpaper exposed in parts, and is more period or rustic, depending on your point of view. If you prefer more contemporary amenities, this suite may not be for you.

Please be mindful of the operating hours of the museum during your stay as to not disturb other guests.

Neighborhood highlights

Historic Cloverdale is one of Montgomery's oldest and most unique neighborhoods. It is easily accessible to/from the interstate and only a mile from downtown. Within walking distance of the apartment are some of the city's premier local restaurants, bars, coffee shops, The Cloverdale Playhouse and an The Capri independent movie theater are also only blocks away. Two doors down from the Fitzgerald Home is Helen Keller's sister's home where Helen Keller spent much time. The neighborhood itself was designed with walkability in mind, so every few blocks, you'll find a small greenspace. Each home is unique in its design and craftsmanship and little has changed since it was founded in 1892. You'll find traces of the history marked by historic plaques peppered among the homes.
