uptown, with a number of good restaurants.

Fishing
Georgetown Lake is a fantastic trout fishery, with plentiful rainbow and brook trout, and kokanee salmon. Ice fishing is very popular in the winter.
There are also many legendary Blue Ribbon trout streams in the area, the closest being Rock Creek to the north and the Big Hole River to the south.
You’ll need a Montana fishing license.
Lake Sports
Waterski or wakeboard from your boat on Georgetown Lake, with miles of open water to enjoy. There is a public boat ramp 1/4 mile away, and you can park at our private dock while you're here. The lake is also fantastic for canoe, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and windsurfing.
Golf
Old Works in Anaconda is rated one of the 100 best public courses in the United States. A Jack Nicklaus Signature design built on the historic Anaconda Copper Company’s smelter site, the black slag sand traps here provide one of the most unique golf experiences available.
Winter Sports
Discovery Ski Area is 6.5 miles from the cabin. Leaving our driveway, turn right on
Highway 1. After 1.7 miles turn left on Southern Cross Road near the 7 Gables,
and follow signs the rest of the way to Discovery. This road can be snowy and icy
in the winter, 4WD is recommended.
There is a cross-country ski trail network that starts directly across the highway from the cabin and extends toward Discovery with groomed and ungroomed trails. Mt Haggin Nordic Trails is a larger area situated in a beautiful setting on the continental divide near Anaconda. Or, just head out on the lake!
There are over 120 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the Georgetown Lake area.
