John and Siobhans bothy was one of the most beautiful places l have ever stayed in all my travels. Set in an incredible location with breathtaking scenery. I can't say enough wonderful things about this very special place. Next time we return it will definitely be for a much longer stay! Thank you Siobhan and John for you warmth and kindness, you were very special hosts. Joan and Gerry.

Cozy little bothy deep in the hills of the Beara peninsula. Perfect hosts who make you so welcome you'll not want to leave. We shall definitely want to return here one day. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for "off the beaten track"

We arrived quite late, but John and Siobhan had kindly lit the wood burning stove and left a range of food, including some freshly baked bread which meant we didn't need to head out again and could settle in for the evening. Following the quietest nights sleep on a very comfy bed, we woke to see the beautiful surroundings- the farm and the surrounding hills and mountains. The whole place is peaceful and magical and perfect for a proper escape. You definitely need a car, but it's worth it to explore this beautiful part of Ireland. Be sure to try the vegetables- I guarantee they will be delicious, and enjoy Johns amazing pottery. John and Siobhan were really lovely and were happy to give advice on what to do, we were just sad we didn't get a chance to talk to them more! We thoroughly recommend the bothy- thanks again John and Siobhan!

This is the second time this year I have been here. Coming back to the bothy was on our agenda as my wife couldn't come the last time. It's out of the way, which was a GOOD thing for us. Not far from Kenmare, and close to R.O.K. and Beara Peninsula. Our only complaint is that we had to leave. We milked the noon check out for all it was worth. Any longer and he would to have had us for only removed! It's a beautiful place and certainly the most relaxed I have been on both trips. If you can brave it, jump in the river!

If you want true relaxation away from head stuck in a smartphone posting on social media syndrome but within fairly easy reach of breathtaking walks and views you could not go far wrong ....just beware of Brian the cat! Loved every minute of it would go back again and again For the totally disorganised beware 30 min round trip to shops in a car......for total fun nature, adventure, amazement and wonder this is it!

The most beautiful cottage that we have stayed at in all of Ireland! The cottage was on gorgeous land with two wonderful hosts! The cottage was so warm and cozy, perfect for Ireland's weather. We wish we would have stayed here for our whole trip!

This place is a dream, one of the best pieces of land I have ever seen.... the river, the mountains, meadows, a swimming hole, and a cozy cabin. The fresh bread and daily fresh vegetables was thoughtful and delicious. I definitely recommend booking this place. I hope to return soon.

I am a farmer and potter . I was born by the sea and mountains on the west coast. I have lived many places around Ireland and abroad but the place I love is the west coast of Ireland . I like the quiet life , practicing yoga ,walking in the mountains and swimming in the river pools , sea kayaking and sailing.
Also pottery, sculpture ,stone walls, paintings, music, books .
I enjoy meeting people from around the world and from all kinds of backgrounds
making a connection and finding over and over again we have all the important things in common .
I don't have a life's motto but I believe everyone is entitled to be treated with Equality and respect .
