Taghazout is a small fishing village about 20km north of Agadir on the Atlantic coast of Morocco. It put itself on the map as a destination for hippies in the 60's, due to it's chilled out ambiance and location on the coast. Then as surfing became more popular Anchor Point attracted surfers from around the globe. Today this village still maintains it's Moroccan identity and the locals generally get along great with the travellers and embrace the surf tourism. Please remember it's a working fishing village, there is litter and the plumbing system is not up to European standards. If you can't hack that- we suggest finding a 5 star hotel in Agadir!
To occupy yourself in Taghazout you can sit around drinking mint tea with the locals and fellow travllers. You can go hang out at the beach where you can surf, swim, sunbathe, play football with the locals or ride a camel! Pardise Valley is about 45mins drive from Taghazout. A beautiful valley with gorges for swimming and cliff jumping. You can visit the local market in Banana village (5 mins by car) on Wednesdays, go to the grand souk in Agadir any day except Monday (25mins by car).
There are many beaches and surf spots within walking distance of the accommodation. If you want to go further afield you can rent a car, take a taxi or take the public bus, although this is a bit slow! The nearest airport is Agadir (45 mins) or Marakech is about 3-4 hours away.
We will welcome you any time of the day or night, but we ask that you give us an estimated time of arrival. We are pretty flexible with the check out time, however if we have a guest arriving we ask you to please consider this and leave enough time for cleaning of the room. Please remember to keep your apartment locked and close the front door behind you.
