The apartment and the room were wonderful, amazing price considering the location, right in the historic downtown.
Metro & Trolebus stations are super close, Eder is an excellent person, very friendly and always looking what he can do to make the guests feel at home.
If I ever need a place to stay at Mexico city again I will definitely stay here.
I lived here for 1.5 months - I say live because you are living in a community with families in a lively apt building; this isn't a boring hotel or foreigner ridden hostel. You get a real sense of what it is like living in Mexico City. If you want to explore D.F this is a great place to stay. Walking: 30 mins to Zocalo, Belles Artes, 5 mins to subway, 5 mins to gym, mercados and amazing street food all within 10 mins of the apt. As a single traveling woman I felt very safe (of course use common sense) both in my apt and the neighborhood.
As a host Eder meets your needs, if you're independent he will give you a few suggestions and leave you to your devises. He also arranges reasonable priced group activities i.e mini-vacay to Tepoztlan, butterflies in Michoacan and any other things happening in DF. Overall let Eder know what your needs are as a guest and he will be very open to meeting them.
I had an amazing time in D.F and I hope you do too!
It was a short but sweet stay here Mexico City. This place is super close to the metro station, which costs 3 pesos, yes 3 pesos to bring you to the tiniest corner of the city. The Zocalo is about 20 min walk from the pad and along the way you really get to see the city and people. Wicked stay for the cost especially.
Eder himself is a down to earth and hardworking guy, incredibly intelligent and knowledgable in the history and politics of Mexico City. In the day I was there we've had some fascinating convo and I've opened myself to a new horizons. Cheers Eder! See you again soon!
The rooms in this apartment were occupied, but Eder was gracious enough to allow me to stay in his apartment. He was an excellent host. We a good time together touring the city. He does rent out a couple of rooms in his house too. It is a great location, near transportation, shopping, movie theaters, coffee shops, parks. His house is very warm and inviting. I will stay again soon. Aside from this, he is truly a good individual. He gives up his weekends to do volunteer work.
