We where met very warmly by our host Loiusa despite some delays at the airport with lost luggage. Loiusa then showed us around the local area helping us with some groceries and a dinner reservation. The apartment was as advertised and perfect for our large group of 8 with 4 bedrooms . The terrace with its view was wonderful and is where we gathered and ate . The location is perfect with many resteraunts close by, the coliseum a short walk and close to public transport. Just a tip for tourists using the metro, we had two robbery attempts( one successful) on the train when people pile on just before train leaves and in the pushing /shoving a very skilful teams takes wallets from pockets. The team was a group of young girls carrying babies!
Loiusa was a very kind and helpful host and I have no reservation about recommending this property.
Thank you Beth for sharing your positive feedback about your recent stay in my apartment.
I’m extremely pleased to realize that you fully enjoyed your experience and thank you for the kind words addressed to me.
I'm sad about the robbery, the young girls you mentioned are gypsies :-(
I hope to mee you again, sooner or later! Best wishes to all
Luisa helped to arrange storage for our bikes and was there to greet us when we arrived. She had also stocked the fridge with some groceries for us. She came back everyday to check the apartment and clean. Luisa arranged transport for our bikes to the airport. The apartment is on the fifth floor in a building close to the main sites of Rome
Luisa was absolutely wonderful to deal with. She was right there when we got to the apartment to check in. She showed us where everything was and gave us recommendations for restaurants and markets. Very helpful. The actual apartment was also very nice. Big with plenty of room for the 6 of us and a nice elevator. Beds were very comfortable and what really made this apartment special was the terrace. We spent a lot of time out there. It was convenient to the metro. Coliseum was about a 20 minute walk. It's a big city, so lots of horn honking in the mornings. Gets you up and out though! Only negative was very poor water pressure and clogged shower heads in the showers. Also mold in the showers. The rest of the apartment was perfect though. Would stay here again.
thank you Karen, happy to know you enjoyed your stay. I bed your pardon for the mold inthe shower it has been completely removed from the new housekeeper. If you had let me know when you was in I'd have sent someone immediately, as I use to do for any request I receive.
Luisa saved our vacation! We had a reservation through an alternate company that was planned weeks in advance. Days before leaving the reservation fell through. We had 7 family members and were looking for a 4 bedroom place. I contacted her through airbnb and she was so fast to respond. We landed in Rome early in the day so she arranged airport pickup for us, stored our luggage until the apartment was ready and gave us a cell phone so she could call us and let us know when to meet at the apartment (we arrived on a changeover day).
The apartment was just what we needed. The kitchen was manageable and had all of the necessities with space for our entire group to sit around the table. More often than not though, any meals we made we preferred to eat out on the terrace. The terrace is a great outdoor space with views of Piazza San Giovanni. The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms were just fine even though the showers are pretty small.
The location of the apartment is in an area that is relatively quiet at night. Many of the local stores close by 8 or 9. The local restaurants stay open later and we had some great meals on evenings where we went out at 9 or 10pm. When you want to cook for yourself, there is a small supermarket right around the corner (Carrefour Express - not open on Sunday). Regarding transportation: most of the major bus routes stop right in front of the Piazza, there is a taxi line 100 meters away, the metro line A is a 2 minute walk from the apartment and the Colliseum is about a 20 minute walk.
When it came time to leave, Luisa was again extremely helpful. She arranged transportation and enabled us to leave our luggage and explore. I can not stress enough how fantastic she was in helping us manage the tough situation we experienced prior to our trip.
Thank you Luisa! It was a pleasure for my family and I to have met you and stayed at your apartment.
