Extra spacious

Some info has been automatically translated.
We look forward to welcoming you to a private suite that is the guest quarters in our home.

You’ll have a private entrance & 3 rooms to yourself. There’s a living room with a table and chairs, a bedroom with a queen-size bed - nightstands, dresser and closet space with hangers for your use - and a newly remodeled full bathroom. There’s also a kitchenette in the hallway which is an antique Hoosier Cabinet equipped with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee pot, and hot water pot.

The space
Our house is over 100 years old. We found this address in a 1916 Indianapolis newspaper - it was a classified ad selling a horse and buggy! Half of our main floor was the neighborhood market during the early 1900s. That part of the house (a little over 500 Sq Ft) later became the suite you'll occupy. There's a living room, bedroom and a bathroom. There is no kitchen - just a small kitchenette setup in the hallway. See the photos and their captions for more info. There is WiFi, but no TV.

Guest access
You'll have the guest suite to yourself with its own entrance. There is no kitchen, but the suite includes a kitchenette (microwave, tiny fridge with one ice cube tray, coffeepot, hot water pot. No meals are provided, but we have what you need to make coffee and tea, and we provide some packets of instant oatmeal.

Other things to note
Note: There is no TV in the house. Although we didn't list a TV in the amenities, a guest was surprised that there was no TV. We've got WIFI, though.
This is the guest suite in our home. When we don't have visiting family, it's available on AirBnB. There are doors at the front and back which will be closed during your stay - so you have your privacy. You have your own private entry door, and the suite has its own heat & A/C. So it's listed as a 'whole place' on AirBnB.

Neighborhood highlights

This area was an elegant addition to Indianapolis in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The nearby park is land donated by one of the wealthy residents, and it was the location for the annual "Feast of Lanterns" with food, music, and paper lanterns. In the last few years, that festival has been revived, which adds hope to the upward movement for this area.
There are still plenty of homes around that need restoration, but quite a few (including ours) show that people are fixing up the neighborhood.
There is a new arts theater just starting construction, right across from the old and elegant Carnegie Library - and an old factory has been divided up into many interesting places for food, artist's studios and maker-space.
A new bike trail has been built that gets you downtown, and that trail will be extended further into our neighborhood.

My husband, Marvin, and I share this account, and communications through AirBnB will be with either or both of us. We are in our young 60s and enjoy the adventure of learning things, meeting people and discovering treasures in book stores, thrift shops and antique stores. I'm an illustrator, and my husband likes making short films.
