In the center of the Medieval village Cetona a unique combination of comfort and beauty. House with a private 1000sqm garden, pool/jacuzzi, spectacular view over Cetona mountain-very particular to be in the center and one of a kind in this village.
Just one minute's walk from the central square, the house is represented by the garden floor and the first floor of a building of the '200. On the ground floor, with two big windows facing the garden, you find a double living room with fireplace, piano, satellite tv, and a guest bathroom; the "red" bedroom with a private bathroom, and a fully equiped kitchen with two dining spaces: one inside and the other one outside under the pergola.
On the first floor you have other two bedrooms: the "brown" and the "green" one. Each of them with its private bathroom, one with a bathtub and other with shower. The windows look over the garden and the mountain.
Also the garden, for the exclusive use of guests, is on two levels. Walking down the stairs from you get to the pool/jacuzzi which is big 11x3,5 meters and 1,5 meters deep.
Outside the main villa and next to the pool/jacuzzi there's a dependance with another double bed which can be used in case there's a 7th and 8th guest. There's a bathroom with a shower, naturally.
There's a wood-fired oven in the western corner of the garden with a table for eight where you can have a lovely dinner under the stars.
A perfectly preserved medieval village of Cetona is just a few minutes drive away from the marvellous Val D'Orcia valley-one of the most beautiful panorama in the World. Citta della Pieve in Umbria or San Casciano dei Bagni with its Thermal spa Fonteverde are both just 20km away. To Montepulciano-30km, to Pienza-40km, to Siena and valley of Chianti-80km, to Firenze-130km.
From Chiusi train station (distance of 8km) you get to Firenze SMN in 1 hour and to Rome Termini in 1,5 hours.
Treat the house as if it was your own.
No smoking inside.
Cetona is a lovely friendly town with only few tourists, the central square is pleasantly busy in the evenings. The local shops include 2 delicatessens, a wine shop (with a huge array of local wines) and a grocers (with a supermarket also in town). The cafe, bar and osteria in town are fantastic.
The house was very smart and spacious, even though there is no air conditioning it remained very cool as it's a traditional stone house. The gardener gave us a huge tray of tomatoes and peppers from the allotment. The pool is great to cool off in and relax by with a beautiful view of the mountain. All in all it was a lovely Tuscan retreat.
