In my very humble opinion, my apartment is cheerful, warm and inviting. I have worked hard to ensure that it offers modern comfort and that it gives off a stylish vibe. The white decor provides an additional edge. It is for these reasons that I request my guests to treat my place not like a hotel room, but like their home away from home. It is also for these reasons that I ask guests to abide by a few simple principles:
1) No feet on the furniture.
2) All windows and doors should be closed and locked when you leave the apartment; shutters should be closed as well if you're spending the night out/away.
3) I will leave some start up provisions in the kitchen for guests, including water, cereal, milk, coffee, etc, but the other items in my pantry are off limits, please.
4) If you damage or break something, please alert me as soon as you can.
5) Please try to keep the place tidy. Depending on the length of your stay, if we agree ahead of time, my cleaning lady may come in during your visit to freshen things up.
6) I have severe allergies and asthma. Therefore, my apartment is a no-smoking zone. This includes the terraces. Please no smoking anywhere on the property.
7) My neighbours are very reserved people. Guests are thus asked to keep noise to a minimum so as not to disturb them.
8) While I want you to feel at home and enjoy, please be gentle on my place...it's beautiful and I'd like to keep it that way.
Imagine the cool, globe trotting first cousin that you never met... who of course being cool and globe trotting has a fantastic apartment in the perfect location for sightseeing. Then add on the part about being your first cousin and wanting to make sure you have a good time even though they have to go work, so leaves stuff in the fridge and checks in to make sure you are having fun. My husband and I were very comfortable and can't recommend this highly enough.
Cassandra's list of restaurants and advice on how best to see the city is worth it alone. I had to take American and Belguim colleagues out to dinner near the train station and the trattoria Cassandra recommended was so good, that we would up ordering a second round of appetizers because they were so good. One of the guys is into wine and spent a delightful 20 minutes running us through the wine menu pointing out have excellent the selection was and how reasonably priced. (The downside was that it was another 20 minutes before the poor guy could deal with the choices and narrow it down to 3). My colleagues were amazed at my savvy (which I admitted was Cassandra's).
The location of her appartment is phenomenal. I spent a long time to trying to find a place in walking distance of the Forum and Pantheon where my husband could sightsee and roam while I had to attend a conference. The apartment is indeed these things. BUT it is also 1/2 block from Largo Terre Argentine-- a historic square on the main road where there is a taxi stand and bus terminus. From anywhere in Rome you can get in a taxi and mumble "Largo Argentine..." and wind up in the right place. It's a bustling part of town and you can easily roam past midnight with the crowds in the cool evening air.
Thanks to you and Kevin for this generous review. I know you've got a million things to do and really appreciate you taking the time to provide such detailed comments. I am so thrilled that you enjoyed staying at my place because I really had a blast hosting you, too!
Cassandra was a brilliant host in Rome and her apartment was beautiful and as described. Cassandra stayed in touch with us before and during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable-we ate at one of her recommended restaurants which was one of the best meals we have ever had together.
The setting was great-it was near everything especially the amazing ice cream and pizza slice shop by The Pantheon.
It was lovely to have a terrace to enjoy our meals and it is so near a supermarket, just brilliant in every way!!
The perfect host, the perfect apartment and the perfect city
Beautiful apartment in the best location in Rome for sightseeing! And Cassandra was a wonderful host who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
We are a couple in our early seventies and we stayed 8 days. The listing description was more than accurate. Cassandra mailed us a very detailed list, included advice about transportation to her location, the intercom, elevator etc.
We arrived late in the evening and Cassandra welcomed us. Crackers, milk, fruitjuice, yoghurt, coffee, tea, sugar, cornflakes and other goodies awaited us, so shopping could wait for the next days.
Since we stayed relative long we could afford to do the Rome sightseeing the easy way. Between outings we returned to the flat and enjoyed the private roof terrace to relax, read and plan our next museum visit. (We were lucky it did not rain till the last day)
During the stay Cassandra gave us many tips about where to go, eat, buy, about galleries and other less known places to visit.
We enjoyed our visit to Rome even more thanks to "Cassandra and her amazing guest room". Thank you!
Mike and Ruth
THANK. YOU so much for your hospitality. To say that your place was nothing less than what you describe in your profile, would simply be unjust.
The place was spotless and absolutely charming. The care you put into it clearly transpires in all its details and welcoming feeling. The location is absolutely perfect and your tips flawless.

About the Host, Cassandra
I love to travel! But after my globetrotting, I always exhale when I return to the Eternal City, my adopted home. And I look forward to having a chance to welcome you to my apartment in the heart of Rome so that you, too, can enjoy all that this wonderful destination has to offer.
