About this listing
King sized bed in own room in a shared house 10 mins from city centre. Cosy house with exposed brick work and period features. All mod cons and recently renovated. Pubs, cafe's and shops all near, area is quiet and peaceful for a good night's sleep
Large bright double room with tonnes of storage space for suitcases etc. Dual aspect with fabulous country side like views. Close to all amenities. Full use of the house, including the kitchen and sitting room. Shared bathroom with full shower/bath (we would just ask that you are respectful of the others in the house and try not to occupy the bathroom for too long between 7.30 am and 8.30 am due to work hours.) Please note the bathroom is on the ground floor. It is a 1 minute walk to the local shop, pubs and cafe's, and a 7-10 minute walk to the city centre, UCC in 20 minutes, less than 10 minutes to the bus station and there's a taxi rank at the end of the street. Perfect base for a stay in the city, everything is within reach yet the area is quiet and peaceful. There are two friendly dogs living in the house but they sleep in my room so won't disturb you much! Please be aware that this house is a period property with some low doorways and the staircase is narrow and slightly steep.
There are two bedrooms in the house so there may be up to 2 other guests during your stay.
As I work part time and am in college part time I would really appreciate if you could appraise me of your arrival time as soon as you can so we can arrange a suitable time for us both :)
Full access to the kitchen, sitting room and bathroom. These areas are shared by everyone in the house, myself and possibly 2 other guests. I will provide tea/coffee facilities and light breakfast, shower and shower products.
There are two rooms available in the house so there may be a maximum 4 people here at one time, myself, one couple and one single.
I can provide clothes washing and washing detergent for a nominal fee.
Please smoke completely outside the house with all doors and windows closed thank you :)
Interaction with Guests
I live permanently in the house so can help you with any information you require. I tend mostly to be here in the late evening but am happy to help as much as I can or leave you to enjoy Cork on your own, whichever you prefer!
This is an old, well established area and we have lovely friendly neighbours. This area of cork is artsy, with some lovely shops selling local artists work, and small individual unique shops.
Taxi rank 1 minute walk. Main bus terminal 10 minutes. Train station 20 minutes. City Centre 8-10 minutes. UCC 20 minutes. Extremely well positioned for transport. 5 minute walk from airport bus stop.
Other Things to Note
Check in times are flexible, but I do need to know when you plan to arrive, otherwise I may be at either of my two jobs or in College etc.,
Please email me when the reservation is confirmed to arrange check in.
Do let me know if you are running late or having difficulties and I will do my best to facilitate/navigate/find you :)
We like a glass of wine and chats but this is not a party house. As we work full time we would appreciate keeping noise to a minimum and (midweek) please talk to us first if you need to shower during 7.30am - 8.30am! I do expect guests to be respectful of our privacy at all times, as I will be of yours :) Please note, there is no smoking in the house, but you may smoke in the garden. ABSOLUTELY no unregistered guests
We spent a wonderful two nights with Talia in June 2015. The big sell forbid was that our dog georgie could stay also. Talia (and her sweet dogs sammy and Minty) was very welcoming and relaxed and made us feel at home immediately. House is perfect location for walking into town (less than 10mins). Would definitely recommend this place.
I spent three nights in Cork at Talia's and had a very enjoyable time. Her house is a renovated cottage, and does have some fairly steep steps to the sleeping rooms. I had no trouble with them, but some might. The rooms are bright and airy, and quiet. The shared bathroom is spacious and clean. The house is located a short, easy walk to the city center in a safe neighborhood; shops and restaurants are very close. Talia is a very personable and friendly, and provided various tips and insights about visiting Cork. I would recommend staying here when you next visit Cork.
I've been here for eight days. Lovely comfortable room, well located (5 minutes to city center). Host is very friendly and helpful.
I had such a wonderful time at the cosy central cottage. The location is good, the room is great and Talia is such a great lady. She was really sweet, she went out of her way to help me and advice me. We went out for a beer in the evening and had a very good time. I highly recommend to stay at Talia's to anyone who is going to spend some time in Cork.
Talia was very helpful and welcoming and we enjoyed our short stay with her and her lovely dogs! The house was very comfortable and we had a great time

About the Host, Talia
I am currently a full time student studying Environmental Science during the school year, and working full time during the summer in the hospital. I have literally gone around the globe and never lost my love of meeting new people and learning about new cultures, I think it's great fun to share differences. I often try to make time to participate in 'Irishy' events with my guests, but am very happy to leave you to your own devices too if you like. I'd like my home to be like your home during your stay so do let me know if there's anything I can help with :)
