Alexandria was wonderful leading up to our stay, excellent communication and provided lots of information about her area. Her apartment could not have been in a better location! Would definitely stay with her again.
Staying at Alexandria's place was great. Alexandria provided cheerful and prompt communication and the place was just right. An excellent crash pad for a few nights in Austin that's near enough to the west side to easily get into that if you want, but far enough away to allow a more relaxed evening on the east side if that's what you're looking for. On site parking was an excellent plus.
LOCATION! Such a great little apartment located in the artsy E 6th St area. We had a blast staying here over Labor Day weekend. It was a great, central place to touch down to cool off / freshen up between outings. So much to do in the immediate surrounding area. Loved the suggestions left on the chalkboard, visited almost every single one of them. Alexandria was a great host and I would recommend that others (4 max) stay here when visiting Austin!
Good location in walking distance from many social things. However if you are a light sleeper you might want pick another location. The rowdy night sounds tend to be very audible in this place. Other than that it seems to be a good place to stay for a couple days.
We stayed here in August 2015.Our trip in Austin was fantastic but unfortunately our stay was not as pleasant.
For starters, the bed in the master bedroom completely collapsed the first day when we sat on it. Alexandria was out of town that day but told us she'd be there first thing in the morning to replace the bed. She suggested we put the mattress on the floor and sleep on that. Though not ideal, we agreed to do that. We noticed cockroaches running around the apartment and nobody wanted to sleep on a mattress on the floor, so two of us squeezed into the tiny twin daybed and slept very uncomfortably. It wasn't until 5 pm the following day (after a reminder phone call to her) that she showed up with a bed. In addition to the broken bed, only 1 of the 5 track lights in the living room worked making it very difficult to see at night, the place was dirty, and there is no oven or stove as listed, but rather a hot plate and toaster oven. The wifi did not work for us either. When Alex came to replace the bed, we kindly asked her to speak with us about coming up with a fair solution (reimbursement) of some sort being that our first night was extremely uncomfortable for those of us having to share a twin bed. She told us she would think about it and be right back with an iron (another amenity that wasn't in the apartment when we arrived). Hours passed and she never came back and failed to return our calls and texts for the remainder of our stay. We were surprised by the lack of respect and courtesy from Alex. After contacting airbnb about our issues and providing proof with pictures, we were offered a refund.
Overall, the apartment looked totally different from the pictures posted on the ad. There is no blue couch in the living room, the lighting in the apartment is terrible, and the place was just dirty. The only real positive to this apartment was the location and it's close proximity to the main city.
Great location, great experience, and great price for it all. Highly recommend!
Great place. This was my first airbnb stay, and I had a great experience. The location was key for me as I had a conference downtown. You have to park on a dirt parking lot, and you walk up old wooden stairs to get to the place, but if you are up for an adventure, I would completely recommend it.
Alexandria was great. We had a window cooler go out and she had it replaced the very next day! It is obvious she wants to provide great service.
