About this listing
This is a warm and inviting apartment in the best East Austin location. Surrounded by trendy bars and restaurants, and a short 5 minute walk to downtown. This apartment is right in the action!
*Please note before booking that this apartment is in a quirky semi-updated turn of the century building*. It's a bit rough around the edges, but if you love a funky, bohemian, cleverly decorated and cozy space then this apartment is for you.
The entire apartment is all yours! You will have absolute privacy at all times, but I live a few blocks away in case you need me for anything.
Close to everything you'll need. Coffee, restaurants, nightlife, etc.
Wifi is included, so bring your laptop. Also, I have an ipod dock in the living room. There is an alarm clock for you to use as well. It also includes all the kitchen basics - coffee pot, french press, kettle, microwave, toaster, stove and oven. Linens are included and extras are also provided. Housekeeping is optional (for a fee).
The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a bold color palate and plush full size bed. The other bedroom has a muted color palate and a firmer full size bed. The living room now also has a twin sized daybed.
The shelves are loaded with books and games in case you want to have a night in, and there's a cozy electric fireplace.
I've stocked the place with coffee and tea and cream. The most awesome Whole Foods in the nation is located on W. 6th St. a nice stroll through downtown away.
I prefer a two night minimum stay, but if you only want to stay for one night - message me and we can work something out.
I also have weekly rates available.
We can also arrange scooter rentals for up to four people or local brewery tours for up to eight.
Bicycle rentals are available from Longhorn Bikes located on E. Cesar Chavez St.
There is a strict four person maximum policy. Check in/out times are flexible. Please message me with arrival and departure times after booking.

SXSW info: You're surrounded by the best that SXSW has to offer. Just a couple of blocks to the Fader Fort and three blocks from downtown. Stay here and you won't have to deal with taxis or buses. Just walk out your front door and you're right in the action!
No pets (unless we talk first). I will allow small doggies if they are housebroken and you pay a pet deposit.
Maximum 4 guests allowed per stay.
One night stay may require a $20 cleaning fee. Please speak to me before booking.
Parking is allowed in the lot directly in front of the apartment, but please remember to take all your belongings inside. I cannot be responsible for your vehicle.
If you lose your keys, I ask that you pay $5 per replacement key.
Wifi password will be given at check in time.
Great location, great experience, and great price for it all. Highly recommend!
Great place. This was my first airbnb stay, and I had a great experience. The location was key for me as I had a conference downtown. You have to park on a dirt parking lot, and you walk up old wooden stairs to get to the place, but if you are up for an adventure, I would completely recommend it.
Alexandria was great. We had a window cooler go out and she had it replaced the very next day! It is obvious she wants to provide great service.
Wonderful, kitschy, Austin-y setting in the heart of East 6th street. Just a short walk to the fun and craziness at W 6th! And just a short bike ride/car ride/uber to any of the amazing outdoor fun that Austin is known for. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay, and found the accommodations perfect for the price! Highly recommended.
The previous reviews are quite disingenuous in terms of the accuracy of this listing. To begin with, during the summer at least, this unit has three in-window air conditioning units (one in each bedroom and one in the living room) that are loud and do not do an adequate job of cooling the apartment down. It's difficult to sleep with the AC unit on because of the noise and it's difficult to sleep with it turned down because of the heat as well as the noise. None of these AC units are in the photos.
There's not a blue couch or brown coffee table in the living room, instead there's a small day bed that's awkward to use, track lighting in the living room but only one of the five lightbulbs worked, there are knives in a knife block but half of them were unusable due to the handle being broken, the honey and nut granola glass container was empty, the shower head is extremely low and will be difficult for any tall person (like 5'10" or taller at least) to shower, a sizable part of the ceiling in the living room is hanging down, the lighting in at least one of the rooms is inaccurately depicted in the photos (reading lamps instead of room lamps), the curtains and rugs are not all the same, the smoke detector had tape over its sensor (I believe), there's no small stove/oven unit in the corner of the kitchen area, instead there's just a two burner hot plate, and there are extension cords which could trip you if you used the wrong side of the bed.
I've been in a half-dozen or so Airbnb's via my wife's account, and this is easily the worst experience I've had which is pretty disappointing as I've always felt the listings and reviews were accurate. It's baffling how the previous reviews were written. It's unfortunate that reviews can't include photos because the disparity would be readily apparent.
All that said, the location is good. You can walk downtown in 10-15 minutes and there are a variety of fun restaurants and bars nearby. The shelves have a ton of books in them (although I only saw scrabble and some trivial pursuit cards for games, another listing inaccuracy) and the art on the walls was enjoyable.
Alexandria's apartment was great for our 3 night stay. The location is super convenient to lots of restaurants and bars on the east side. Recommended if you're looking for a simple & comfortable spot on that side of town.
Listing was accurate, and we loved the location. We were able to walk to many great bars and neighborhood restaurants. The host had a list of her favorite locals spots and we made sure to check them out. Austin traffic is really horrible, and this apartment is in a perfect location where you can easily access all that the city has to offer!
The best thing about the apartment is the location (AMAZING!) - made for a wonderful trip in Austin. The little amenities were lovely (towels, wash cloths, sheets, hangers, etc) and quite helpful. The apartment met our needs for the weekend trip However, it was more "rough around the edges" than expected.
