From the heart of Bed Stuy! Our sunny apartment with exposed brick is SO BROOKLYN. Tree-lined streets, artisanal soul food, craft beers and coffee shops are all steps away. Easy access to the A or C line to get you around BK or to Manhattan.
Beautiful, clean, sunny space on a quiet block for you to escape the madness of the city.
NOTE **This listing is for the the smaller bedroom.**
The apartment features an open floor plan. We have an immaculate full bathroom with mosaic tile. Our cozy kitchen has everything you need, including a self-watering hydroponic Windowfarm system with fresh herbs (currently growing: chives, lemon balm, peppermint and thyme). Wifi is available to all guests, as is our expansive record collection.
Our lovely tree-lined block is located between the A express line and C local line, both of which can get you to and from JFK, to other Brooklyn 'hoods such as Clinton Hill, Fort Greene and Downtown Brooklyn, and to Manhattan.
Our corner of Bed Stuy has some really charming, locally owned places to grab coffee, a meal or a beer, and we are happy to give you a list of our favorites.

Bed Stuy is an iconic Brooklyn brownstone neighborhood and notoriously diverse. The buildings are beautiful and historic. The noise level is so much quieter than other areas of New York. The neighbors all say hi, and every block throws an amazing block party in the summer.
We are between the A express and C local trains. Guests with cars should not have a problem finding street parking right in front and will just have to be mindful of the street cleaning schedule.
Guests flying into JFK can take the Airtran to the A and then walk 2.5 blocks to the apartment. A cab ride from Laguardia is about $25.
No pets. No smoking. No parties.
Great little gem in Bed-Stuy neighborhood of Brooklyn! The apartment was adorable and was in a very convenient location. Sarah was super easy to communicate with and was very accommodating when we found ourselves with a cancelled flight due to weather. The building was quiet, on a quiet street and we would definitely look into this apartment again should we find ourselves in NYC.
The apartment is even better in person than in it is in pictures. It gets a lot of sunlight, even in winter, which makes the place feel ver cozy. Sarah was traveling at the time of our stay but stayed in touch regularly via emails and texts and answered all our questions very promptly. Highly recommended, would stay there again in a heartbeat.
The place was very nice and conveniently located (close to subway) Sarah was also extremely helpful and provided quick and detailed informations making everything ever so simple even though we communicated via email.
Everything was great. Communicated everything via e-mail. No problems! Listing was very accurate.
Although we did not meet Sarah she was very quick to respond to emails and to keep us informed.
The apartment was fine for a couple and the walk to the subway was about 10 minutes. The neighbourhood was quiet and friendly.
The reservation was canceled 46 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Before we arrived, Sarah had sent us a detailed mail on directions on which subway lines to take to reach her location and how to get from the stations to her apartment. There were also precise directions on where to find the keys and how to enter the apartment. The apartment itself was exactly as shown in the pictures with lovely wooden flooring in both the living area and the bedroom. Once inside the apartment we found a very detailed note from Sarah on the Dos (many) and Donts (few) around the apartment. The note had a very informative instruction sheet on the nice restaurants in the area and how to connect to the wifi etc. It also had a list of phone numbers of taxi services close by along with promo codes for discounts/free rides (hat tip to Sarah for that)! She had also left us two very fluffy white towels for our use. The apartment has a fully functional kitchen that you can use to make meals. There is a very nice collection of vinyls and books that you are allowed to use. The apartment is located on the second floor of a Brownstone apartment in a tree lined street which is really pretty. For people new to NY, Bedford-Stuyvesant is just a 20-30 min subway ride from Manhattan so it is superbly located. Sarah gave us a list of lovely restaurants close by to check out and we also found some with Yelp that we looked at. There are plenty of grocery stores close by and two busy metros within few blocks of the apartment so commuting and stocking up are really easy. The only downside to it is the fact that the area can sometimes get a little noisy at night. On the first night, there were a bunch of youngsters who were roaring up and down the street outside the bedroom on a dirt bike which makes a high whiny noise. The second night, we had a bunch of guys outside with loud music playing in their car. Both these incidents unsettled my friend a bit since he is not used to city living in the US but are common place on most large city blocks and therefore did not leave me feeling insecure in the least. While booking be sure to check the check in and check out times since we seem to have missed that while booking. We somehow assumed that check out was at 3 PM but it turned out to be 10 AM (which Sarah is strict about enforcing) so that meant we had to go to JFK and hang around there for a few hours till our flight left. On the whole though, for the price, we thought the apartment was beautiful and located superbly. I would not hesitate to go there again if I am ever in the NY area. This time though I would go with a friend that was not so worried about any noise in the...
