  • Staying in the Mongolian yurt was a great experience! The overall atmosphere was a real treat. Allthough we've had seen the photo's on the internet, in real it was so much better. A nice en very comfort place to stay, good beds, all in all very tidy and clean. The use of the bathroom and kitchen was very proper and very well organised.
Unfortunately we only spend 1 night in the yurt, as we were heading down west, but will stay in future time a couple of days longer, as there is much to see in the nearby area.
We had a very warm welcome, when comming to Twielenfleth. Aurora and Volkmar are very friendly.hosts. When we got back in the evening, Volkmar had already lit the fireplace in the yurt, which was very nice and cosy.
During the evening we put on the cd-player with traditional music, which gave the stay at the yurt a
The next morning we got homemade confiture, which was very much appreciated.
Thank you, Aurora and Volkmar, for letting us in and relive such a great experience. We will definately will come back.
    Greetings from Holland,
    Rik, Marga & Jens.

  • What a great place to visit. And sooo close to Hamburg. I am really sad I was not able to make it to Volkmar´s yurt due to a spontaneous farewell party in Hamburg.
Nevertheless the contact with Volkmar was perfect. Even himself a little bit sad that I canceled he offered me to come over whenever I will be in Hamburg next time, transfer from the train station to his yurt included :)
Volkmar, your yurt really is a unique place on Airbnb and I wish you all the best for future reservations!

    Response from Aurora & Volkmar:

    Response from Aurora & Volkmar:

Die Mongolei passte nicht in den Container... ;-)

    Response from Aurora & Volkmar:

    Response from Aurora & Volkmar:

  • Nice place for a short stay, a real experience, the yurt is really beautiful. We stayed five days at Volkmar and Aurora en route from Denmark to the Netherlands. Pros: hand painted decor, very welcoming, full kitchen, clean bathrooms, walking distance to public pool and beach, surrounded by fruittrees, near Hamburg and Stade. Also great for children (we were with our two sons of 4year) thanks to the garden with trampoline, sandpit and toys which we could use and even take to the beach. Cons: not suitable for longer stay (one room), kitchen and bathroom in the house of the owners, less privacy because Yurt is in the (large) backyard of the owners.

  • Truly a unique and fun experience! Aurora & Volkmar are very nice and helpful hosts. We highly recommend this experience!

  • It was a great experience! Both the Yurt (which is completely build from natural materials) and the surroundings.

The yurt is a great location to explore the area or to visit Hamburg (which is reachable by a short drive). In the summer there's a lot of fruit for sale by the local farmers. With it's position beneath the dike, it's great to take a walk to the beach and see container and cruiseships passing by.

Aurora and Volkmar are very hospitable. Thanks for the stay!

  • Very unique stay and one we will remember for a long time.
It has everything it advertises. We had the basics supplies in a small kitchen with a fridge. Beds were warm and comfy.
We enjoyed the area very much and stopped to buy the local fresh fruit from a nearby farm.
