The mongolian yurt stands in the "Altes Land", northern Europes biggest fruit growing region. Only 150 m away from the Dyke of the Elbe-River our authentic acommodation with furniture like the nomads of the central-asian steppes are still using. Up to four yurt-beds are equipped with comfortable matresses. The Ger, how it is called in mongolian language, is made of all natural materials as wood, felt and linen and can be heated with a wood-fired oven. Outside the ger is a possibility to sit with a nice view at the sourrounding apple- an plumtrees. In our house, which is around 30 metres away, you will find the sanitary facilities and a small, full equipped kitchen.
The region is perfect for bike tours or for long walks. Only 1km away is a small beach at the Elbe River, the historic city of Stade is 6 km away and its easy to reach Hamburg by car (~40km) or by train from Stade. A public open air pool and a restaurant are in the direct neighborhood.
The yurt is equipped as following:
-bedclothes and towels included
-pets on request
-kitchen with toaster, coffeemaker and all necessary equipments
-bookable from 1 night
-all extra costs included
Nice place for a short stay, a real experience, the yurt is really beautiful. We stayed five days at Volkmar and Aurora en route from Denmark to the Netherlands. Pros: hand painted decor, very welcoming, full kitchen, clean bathrooms, walking distance to public pool and beach, surrounded by fruittrees, near Hamburg and Stade. Also great for children (we were with our two sons of 4year) thanks to the garden with trampoline, sandpit and toys which we could use and even take to the beach. Cons: not suitable for longer stay (one room), kitchen and bathroom in the house of the owners, less privacy because Yurt is in the (large) backyard of the owners.
Truly a unique and fun experience! Aurora & Volkmar are very nice and helpful hosts. We highly recommend this experience!
It was a great experience! Both the Yurt (which is completely build from natural materials) and the surroundings.
The yurt is a great location to explore the area or to visit Hamburg (which is reachable by a short drive). In the summer there's a lot of fruit for sale by the local farmers. With it's position beneath the dike, it's great to take a walk to the beach and see container and cruiseships passing by.
Aurora and Volkmar are very hospitable. Thanks for the stay!
Very unique stay and one we will remember for a long time.
It has everything it advertises. We had the basics supplies in a small kitchen with a fridge. Beds were warm and comfy.
We enjoyed the area very much and stopped to buy the local fresh fruit from a nearby farm.
What an experience! This was an amazing place to stay, and Aurora and Volkmar were fantastic hosts. We were so happy to have stayed there and loved the time we spent with their family. Thank you for an awesome stay, and we will be returning!
