The Space

The flat is bright and comfortable. It is on the third floor of a quite building with five floors and a terrace from which you can have a great look to the Vatican and San Peter' square, that are very close. My flat is fully furnished and has all you need for a great stay: free wifi, tablet, stellite TV, microwave, washing machine, kettle, air conditioner, central heating.

Guest Access

You will rent the whole flat. It has two rooms, two double bed sofas and one ottoman bed, one bathroom with a shower cubicle and an independent kitchen fully furnished.

Interaction with Guests

At the moment of check in I will welcome you and I will give you suggestions on where to go and what to visit. The best way to reach the main touristic place in Rome and to reply to all your questions and need.

The Neighborhood

The flat is located in a central and quite area (San Pietro-Vatican) where you can stay very safe. There are lots of free parking if you come by car and it is easily reachable from the highway, although it is very central. Around the flat you can find good restaurants and pizzerie, coffee shops, ice cream, bakery, pharmacy, supermarket, banks, bus stop, train station. Moreover the flat is walking distance to Gianicolo and Villa Pamphili two great green areas where you can walk or run or...just sit in front of a little lake and relax!

Getting around

Bus stop is at 20 meters from the flat. San Pietro railway station is at 5 minutes walking distance: you can use it for going in other places inside Rome (e.g. Trastevere, Ostiense) or for going to Civitavecchia (where the cruises arrive) or to go to the airport of Fiumicino very easily.

  • We had a great time in this little place. Massimo was very nice and helpful. He gave us info about the buses that really helped us out and he arranged transportation to and from the airport. The location of this place is perfect, your right next to the vatican and good shopping. Right downstairs is a fantastic place for dinner and a bakery right next door for breakfast. Bus stop right outside to take you anywhere else. I highly recommend this great little place. Thanks Massimo!

  • Overall our stay at Massimo's apartment in Rome was good. A couple notes when considering booking it: We had 2 couples in the space because there are 2 pull out sofa's and it is a tight fit, but it works if you plan on just sleeping there. I would recommend you bring your own pillow or ask Massimo to invest in some new ones as they were quite awful (I'm not sure they really qualify as pillows they were so soft and squishy). We were met by a new cleaning lady who spoke no English and luckily my friend speaks fluent Italian so we were able to communicate, but if you don't be prepared for that. It also didn't feel "super clean" as the other places we stayed at and there was no toilet paper when we arrived (we had to go out and buy some which Massimo reimbursed us for, but still). Massimo came and met with us for breakfast the next morning which was awesome and overall you can't beat the location. Overall a nice stay, but could definitely be better if Massimo invests a little more into it.

    Response from Massimo:

Dear Allison, as i explained to you, the lady you met when arrived, was the first time (and the last time) she worked with me. I understood she wasn't able to do this job after speaking with you. I asked you just the pleasure to buy toilet paper because i realized that she didn't see it in the storage (where there were lots of toilet papers!). I wasn't in Rome to solve the problem soon and by myself. Anyway I gave you back your money soon. As regarding the pillows, why when I asked you if everything was fine you replied that it was? If you had told me about problems with the pillows I would have bought soon some new one. Just few seconds after the breakfast (that I offered to you and your friends) that we had the first morning following your check in. In any case, the next time try to communicate better with the owner; in this way you can help us (owners) to solve those problems that sometime don't depends on us.

  • For those wanting an apartment in Rome, this is a good place to stay. The kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping areas are all perfectly adequate and clean. Also, the apartment looks to have been recently decorated. Though the rooms were much smaller than what we had in mind based on photos, it is probably very typical of apartments in Rome. Certainly hotel rooms in Rome can be very tight (I know from personal experience in multiple hotels), so if you go into your stay with that knowledge, it should not be a problem. The elevator was again, small but typical, and it worked just fine. Unfortunately, the room got very hot during our stay- we saw an air conditioning unit, but there was no hook up vent that we could see. We would have asked about it at the time of check in, but we were met by the housekeeper instead of Massimo. We didn't mind, and we felt very warmly welcomed. We did have the language barrier to contend with, though, since the housekeeper spoke no English, and my Italian was not sufficient enough to discuss air conditioning. There was a portable fan to be used, though. From our exchange, she conveyed that we had only the fan at our disposal, and no other cooling features. Also, if we felt bothered enough by the temperature, I did feel that we could contact Massimo- we just chose not to bother him about this particular issue. We slept with the windows open- one night, the temperature caused us to sleep very restlessly, but one night the daytime rains brought the temperature down and we slept better. Some might be bothered by street noise, but we did not find it disruptive. Like I previously stated, it was the temperature that caused us to lose sleep at night.

For those looking for an apartment in Rome in the St. Peter's area, I would feel comfortable recommending this place.

    Response from Massimo:

Dear Jennifer, thank you for your review. But I want to highlights few things: of course, as you know, there is an air conditioner inside, working very fine. If you had problems communicating with the housekeeper about it, why didn't you ask me? I would have replied or come asap to show you how it works. There is a fan too. Moreover, you forgot to mention that you were seven persons (4 adults and 3 kids)... Best regards

  • Massimo and his wonderful apartment were great for our family. He was extremely helpful in arranging transport to and from the airport and excellent communications. He came to meet our family and offered us very helpful information for navigating around Rome. The apartment is close to Vatican City with lovely restaurants and close supermarket. It is very clean and organized and well-equipped. This is a great option for anyone considering to visit Rome. Massimo is the best!

  • Massimo was an excellent host and did all he could to accommodate our needs, including bringing us several items that were lacking in the apartment and especially allowing us to be flexible with arrival and departure times. Communication with him was very positive and we thank him for all he did to make our stay very pleasant.
The apartment is well located - a 10 minute walk to the closest bridge on the Tiber River and to St. Peter's square, and near convenient bus lines. The apartment is clean and well-lit and the neighborhood offers nice cafes, a nearby supermarket and restaurants.

A comment concerning size: we were four adults (parents and two grown sons) and we found the apartment small for our needs; when the two sofabeds are open, it's a tight squeeze. But if you just open them at night to sleep and close them in the morning, it's doable. The noise from the nearby main street can be sometimes quite intense, but if the windows are closed, it's much better.
All in all, a very positive experience and we recommend staying at this venue.

  • Massimo was a great host. He even took my friends and I for coffee and gave us a mini tour to give us a different perspective of the city. He also recommended a fantastic eatery for gnocchi! He was available anytime we had questions and was very accommodating to our schedule when we arrived. Walking distance to the Vatican.

  • Massimo was very nice and an awesome host. My friend and I got into Roma Termini train station late at night and he offered to pick us up and drive us to the apartment for free. He also was nice enough to book us a car service to the airport. The apartment was clean and very close to Vatican City. It's possible to walk to all the big tourists spots (Roman Forum, Colosseum), but I would bring comfy walking shoes (we didn't try public transportation). I stayed with a group of five. It was small and intimate (two pull out sofas and one cot). We didn't stay much in the apt so it was no big problem. Grocery store is right by the apartment so that was a plus.
