No smoking, thank you.
I came down for a few days at the beach and Richard and June made it easy. Comfortable place to sleep, delicious and healthy breakfast, good conversation. There was plenty of space for surf gear. It couldn’t have been much more simple. Wouldn’t hesitate to do again.
June and Richard were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Happy to provide transport tips etc. Even gave me a card for the wedding (which I had forgotten). Nice continental breakfast provided. Couldn't recommend enough
Thank you very much for your hospitality. It was a great stay in a very clean and comfortable house. We can used also a nice terrace. The breakfast was delicious with several fruits, homemade jam and cerals, joghurt and fresh baked croissants. June and her husband were very considerate in every way. We would recommend them without hestitation to any other guests.
We had a wonderful time at this place and can highly recommend it!!!
June and Richard were the best hosts you can imagine! They gave us a warm welcome and provided everything to make our stay comfortable. They we're also helpful regarding advices for Torquay as well as for our GOR-trip!
The location itself is perfect!
Modern,private and very clean (bath-)rooms.
Thank you for having us June and Richard! It was a pleasure!
I had a wonderful stay with Richard and June. They are both lovely and make you feel very welcome. House is great and homely. It is close to the beach and restaurants. Perfect location and perfect place to stay. Highly recommend!
Location, location, location. In the middle of both Torquay beaches with Cosy Corner practically at the end of the street.
5min walk to nearest cafe, 10 min walk to local restaurants, 15-20min walk to Gilbert St and Surf City shops, 30min walk to Jan Juc.
Clean and so much light from the huge windows. Nice deck and comfy bed. The room was a single during my stay so I'm unaware how the new double is configured but there's plenty of space for 2. Great wifi.
Bathroom & loo are shared with another guest double (I had this to myself though, very lux) and the whole guest area is shut off from the main space if desired.
I'm a quiet guest but any interaction with June and Richard was lovely and welcoming and it was lovely chatting to them both whenever we crossed paths.
There was a slight delay on checking in but June kindly allowed me to stay longer on my check out day by way of reimbursement which was appreciated. The walls are thin, I needed earplugs from ambient sound so bring some along if sensitive to noise.
No second 'B' provided but there are a few local cafes to break ones fast in and June and Richard offered some kitchen cupboard space if needed.
Very pleasant stay indeed. Highly recommended.
Samantha, We do actually offer breakfast and had set the table for you on your first morning. I make home made granola, jam, bread and we also offer croissants and fresh fruit, juice, brewed coffee to every guest. You were keen to go out and buy breakfast this first morning and the night before the second morning you advised Richard you were going out to get breakfast again.
I'm sorry you missed this part of our service.
June and Richard were delightful, easy-going and welcoming hosts. The house and my room were spotless and well thought out - a bright desk lamp that was easy to move to be a decent reading lamp in bed and easy-to-access powerpoints, comfortable bed and linen. hooks on the door and hangars in the wardrobe. a chest for putting your bag/case. the bathroom and separate toilet with basin were bright, airy and loved all the house plants and outlooks onto the garden courtyard. would highly recommend. a few minutes walk to Torquay main shopping strip.

We've always appreciated meeting new people and offering hospitality. Having people stay completes our home. Like most Australians, Richard and I have travelled and love staying with local people. So we enjoy helping others have the same experience: feel safe and at home while taking in the beautiful and varied environment of Torquay.
From here you can drive to sights as far as the Twelve Apostles.
A part-time sociologist/artist and a consulting engineer, we are easy going. Love to boogie board, walk our dog, read (Wolf Hall and Birds Without Wings are still my favourites) and dance.
