This Spanish style house sits atop a cobblestone street in the historic Edgewater neighborhood. Designed in the 1920's by Rockford's most famous architect, Jessie Barloga, Barloga homes represent the finest in Spanish-style, English Tudor and Art Deco architecture throughout Rockford proper. With a fully modernized, gourmet stocked kitchen, this lovely three-bedroom home sleeps 6. Whether you need a place to stay for work or pleasure, you will feel right at home in this cozy gem.

The space
The cathedral-like living room, with its arched barrel ceilings and hardwood floors, is flooded with natural light and an original fireplace. Throughout the home, the furniture was carefully chosen to be comfortable and chic, accented with art pieces, books, and Rockford memorabilia. The environment created serves as a unique and interesting experience, as well as meeting the need for a great visual backdrop for your family vacation photographs and everlasting memories.

The fully renovated kitchen, equipped with black stainless gas stove-top and oven, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, Whirly Pop popcorn machine and huge refrigerator, is the perfect place to fix full meals for you and your hungry family. There is a kitchen table as well as a full dining room. A front load washer and dryer are also available for your convenience. While you snuggle up in the main area to watch a movie, the second story bedroom is perfect for the kids to get away and enjoy themselves (and their popcorn!). With two futons and lots of space to play and work, you can be assured that every person's needs for privacy will be met. You will never want to leave the Clinton House after your visit, but the experience will create memories worth repeating. (Non-working fireplace.)

The home is a block from the beautiful and serene Rock River and walking path, and a brisk walk to the nearby Nicholas Conservatory, University of Illinois School of Medicine, and famous Japanese Anderson Gardens. The house is located two miles from downtown restaurants and shops, and is a 5 minute drive to Rockford University, Mercy Hospital, Sundstrand and Woodward Governor. There is so much to see in Rockford! To get some exercise, consider going on a walking tour of the Rock River, or the 320 mile Rock River Trail is available for your pleasure.

While not enjoying the scenery and cool ocean breezes of Kauai, Mary is immersed in her art projects and the couple’s daughters, Jorgie, age 11, and Demi, age 6. While back home in Illinois, George practices law and shovels snow. The couple enjoys their three dogs, Alfie (an 80 pound Briard), Lucy (another big Briard), and Willie (a 10 pound mutt who bosses the bigger dogs around). Some of their other activities include, biking, reading, running, traveling with their daughters, and experimenting with new restaurants.
