Dawn is a fantastic host and her place was even nicer and more spacious than the photos suggested! We loved her "as much or as little interaction" philosophy and happily took her up on the offer to hike to Nauyaca waterfall together. Dawn was attentive and pleasant and generous with her time. We loved staying in the jungle with the one caveat -the road is not for the faint of heart, but by the middle of our trip we were fearless jungle mountain road drivers, enjoying the sounds of the birds & monkeys! I would wholeheartedly recommend Dawn and the Morpho Eco-retreat to all Costa Rica adventurers!

Dawn's place was incredible. The description and photos don't do it justice! Dawn is a fantastic host and her communication levels & style were off the chart. The check in process went very smooth and throughout our entire trip, we felt comfortable and cared for. The description mentioned the drive there - take this seriously and get a good 4x4 vehicle. We didn't have any problems with the road (or feel unsafe) but it does require some attention! The home's finishes were great. The waterfall on the property was a highlight and should absolutely be explored. The area offers some great destinations and attractions. From the porch, we heard & saw monkeys, tons of birds, an iguana, every color of butterflies; we even saw a sloth on the main road to the house. I definitely recommend Dawn & her Eco Retreat! Dawn, thanks for all you did to ensure we had a great stay.

Thanks so much for your lovely review, Nicolas and Michelle! We fell in love with the land for the peace and serenity it offered. When we were designing the house, bringing the connection to nature into the design was an important element. I had so much fun choosing materials that would bring to life all of the custom furninshings that were built on-site during construction, and continue with every trip to add decorative pieces that inspire me, the property is truly my "baby", a reflection of my personal tastes today! We are thrilled that you and your family enjoyed their stay and are now inspired to return to Costa Rica, a beautiful country that has so much to offer! Pura Vida Dawn

If you are planning a visit to Uvita this is the place to stay! Because of the location, the view is breathtaking and perfectly situatated for cool breezes and watching nature. The driveway is very steep and may be a little off-putting your first trip up and down but with 4-wheel drive low you will have no problem. After the first time it's a breeze with nice pavement in the steepest section. The layout is open and airy with a big bunk room comfortable for adults or children and a lovely master suite. Both have attached full bathes with everything you need. The pool is small but perfectly situated to cool off and take in your beautiful views of the whale tail and picture perfect sunsets. Be prepared to see monkeys, macaws and all the unique Costa Rican wildlife. Dawn was a wonderful communicator and connected me to her management company that met us and let us in the 1st day. She is prompt to respond to any needs and there is a quiet caretaker and his wife that are on the property just a ways down the driveway. Don't worry, the home is completely private with the reassurance of someone close by if needed. The falls on the property are my favorite ones of all the ones we visited while in Costa Rica,so don't miss out, make sure to spend time swimming or just chilling at the falls.

Thank you for your suggestions, Mary. This part of the review process is a great help to us, allowing us to always improve on the experience. When I'm down this next time, I will be looking into extra outdoor furniture for all. I'm sorry to hear about the towel issue, my housekeeper is always informed of the number of guests and should be setting the house up accordingly, i.e.: enough towels for each guest listed on the rental with an exchange during the week. I will be sure to remind her again. I will also take a look myself at the drawer organization. I imagine with each new set of guests things get moved around slightly. Thanks again and I'm thrilled that you enjoyed your time in Costa Rica. Pura Vida Dawn

My family had a fantastic trip to Uvita, we will definitely be returning! The Eco retreat is in a spectacular location and beautifully designed. The views are amazing, and can be enjoyed from anywhere in the house, inside and out. We had a toddler with us so remained inside when he was awake as the balcony is quite open, but it still felt like we were part of nature because of the floor to ceiling windows and sounds of the birds and insects. We could even watch humming birds right outsidethe window! Dawn was really helpful and knowledgeable (follow her advice about the 4x4) as we're the property managers. Uvita is a lovely little town with great places to eat and drink (ice cream and coffee were particular favourites) and the local scenery is beautiful. Thanks for a great holiday Dawn!

We spent an incredible week here, and I cannot recommend it enough. We woke up to the sounds of the jungle and spent the early mornings sipping coffee on the balcony, enjoying one of the best views in Uvita. The house is gorgeous and comfortable. And the private waterfall was the perfect spot for a refreshing swim after a hot day at the many nearby beaches. The property management and caretakers were friendly and helpful. We were sorry to have to leave.

Thank you so much for the lovely review, Julie! We fell in love with the area of Uvita almost 6 years ago and chose it to build our vacation villa and future retirement property. All of the things you mentioned are just some of the special qualities that have reserved a special place in my heart for my home away! We go there to unplug and always hope that our guests can experience what we do. From your kind words, it sounds as if you did. We are so lucky to work with Jaguar Property Management and our caretakers, Jairo & Francini, they ensure for us that everything goes smoothly in our absence.I'm so happy you had a wonderful, first experience in Costa Rica, it truly is a magical place!
