We are located on 5 acres at the top of a hill on a quiet country lane, very close to the village.
Our lane comes off of highway 1 and is a short drive to Mendocino. No sidewalks, so we do not recommend walking to town.

We had a wonderful weekend at Howard and Angela's place!! It was close to town, super clean and had everything we could have needed. They even had coffee, tea, muffins, jam and wine waiting for us! We are looking forward to coming back to stay (website hidden). Super comfy bed and sheets!!
We didn't get to meet Howard during our stay, but Serenity was just what we needed for our weekend getaway! It's a short drive to town, and it is more secluded from neighbors than the pictures show—perfectly peaceful and quiet. It's a great value for a very clean and comfy, standalone 1-bedroom unit. We had everything we needed to prep and cook food and appreciated the complimentary wine and breakfast items. Communication on how to find the place was timely and clear. We also appreciated the information printouts on the table by the entryway.
Serenity was a great place for our long weekend! The cottage was clean and welcoming, and a perfect size for 2 people. Close to town and a wonderful view from the porch. Very private even though it's right by the main house. Howard was so easy to work with and was extremely gracious, even when we accidentally broke a glass. I highly recommend for anyone staying in the Mendocino area.
We had a fantastic stay at the Serenity guest house this past weekend. The detached 1br unit was set back on a hillside overlooking the ocean, a huge grassy field, and the neighbor's blooming, yellow, daisy-filled yard.
The unit was very clean and comfortable, just as described.
The location is perfect, as it's just a short 2 minute drive to Mendocino village, and in close proximity to all of the beautiful scenery in the area.
Howard was a wonderful host - we were welcomed with coffee and english muffins for our first morning, and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge.
We had a minor issue with the heater, but Howard took care of it immediately and made sure we were totally comfortable for our stay.
This space provided us a lot of privacy and much-needed relaxation.
We would definitely stay here again the next time we come to Mendocino.
Serenity is a great place to stay! My wife and I stayed here and found that the location was ideal. It is close to everything you will want to do while in Mendocino. It offers privacy and boast a full kitchen and bath with plenty of room. We would stay here again on our next trip. Thanks to our host Howard for offering a clean environment for our relaxing getaway.
About the Host, Howard
My wife Angela and I have lived here in Mendocino for 26 years. I am a retired building contractor and Angela is an artist. She loves to paint and specializes in Mendocino scenes and the ocean. Her work can be viewed at the Panache gallery on Main St in Mendocino. We enjoy a walk around the headlands as often as possible and a kayak up the river.
