Our residence has been built to accommodate our guests from all over the world.Our ambition when we started was to have the peoples of the world come and experience Irish hospitality.Our accommodation is largely en-suite and we also provide a lounge.
Our bed and breakfast is our passion. Our constant priority is to take care of our guests, and make them feel at home .Irish hospitality deserves its reputation and we aim to keep it so. We provide en-suite accommodation but also we recognise that for some people, standard accommodation with private bathroom outside their room as an alternative, may suit them in terms of a more competitive price.Our accommodation can accommodate 9 adultsin a total of 4 rooms and we can add a childs cot if necessary, and also a baby chair at breakfast time. All our rooms are fitted with smoke alarms.
Our guests will have access to the breakfast room, a relaxation lounge with reading material and TV. Our guests are welcome to use the picnic area .Smoking is not permitted inside any part of the residence.Private, safe, and free parking is available on site. Acess to owners private areas is not permitted but if guests are in need of attention we do provide a push button bell in the reception hall.
Interaction with Guests
We as hosts are on site most of the period in which our guests are staying.We are there every night and morning, as the residence is also our home.We are always concerned that our guests needs are taken care of and we endeavour to assist in any way we can to make their stay in our country a memorable and enjoyable one.
I love the peace of the countryside and yet the main routes are just a few minutes away by car.The air is clean and fresh and the surrounding countryside is pleasent to the eye.Our guest will enjoy a quiet peaceful atmosphere,with freedom to walk in the area.The small city of Kilkenny is just 5 minutes drive by car from Twin Oaks
There is no public transport.Parking is free and private and safe and on (URL HIDDEN) on the M50 from Dublin airport and connect to the N7 for Limerick. Continue on and look for the sign for the M7 for Waterford---Kilkenny.Continue on and look for the M9 for Kilkenny. Continue on and look for exit 9 for Kilkenny.Take exit 9 and travel on to the N10 for Kilkenny for approx 2 kms.Look for the R6700 on the left side of road.Take the turn and continue on for 1.5 kms.At the crossroads take the L5033 .Continue on for 400mts.Twin Oaks is on the left side of road with sign outside of house.
Other Things to Note
interesting ruins of an ancient priory is situated just 4 kms from Twin Oaks, on the Kings river, in the picturesque village of Kells, south on the R697.
We would expect our guests to be courteous and considerate to ourselves and to other guests staying at Twin Oaks.Also to inform us of any concerns they may have with regard to allergies of any kind.To respect the privacy of the owners. If in doubt about anything, to ask questions. Also not to disturb the peace of the night, when people are sleeping.Smoking is not allowed within the house. PETS MUST BE HOUSE TRAINED IN ORDER TO STAY WITH THE OWNERS IN ROOMS.Finally to be careful with regard to bedding, bathroom supplies eg towels etc and fixtures and fittings.
Ger and Mary are husband and wife and we are the owners of Twin Oaks Bed and Breakfast.We are both quiet by nature but we enjoy meeting people from around the world .People have so much to offer and even though the stay is usually brief we find that everyone has something to offer by way of their character.There have been so many occasions when we would love to have had the chance to spend more time with our guests because they have been such interesting people or have led such interesting lives.We both like to read my wife more so.I like to write poetry, but dont do so as much as I used to to.I like the outdoors and was very sports orientated when I was younger.I still like to stay fit.I like to do gardening, and I am a DIY, man.As regards TV, well the occasional film , documentary, wildlife and some sports( especially Rugby) hold my (URL HIDDEN) wife is an excellent cook, although I have been known to produce meal worthy of her praise.Mary is one of the most honest and genuine people I have ever met.Always ready to help anyone in any way she can, and I should know.I am a much better man for knowing her and sharing our lives together.
