Simple Comfortable Studio In Hawaii

Apartment - Private room · Princess Keelikolani St, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740, United States

The Space

In these challenging economic times, why spend so much on an oceanfront rental when you can enjoy all the advantages of the beach on a low budget?
This centrally located, clean, no frills studio in the heart of the White Sands Beach area off of Ali`i Drive lets you enjoy a stay near the beach, yet just far enough away to avoid the sight and sound of traffic.

The ground floor studio is equipped with a kitchenette with microwave, coffee maker, and refrigerator. Wireless internet access is included. A gas grill, washer, and dryer are available for our guests.

Enjoy White Sands Beach for world-class bodysurfing and boogie boarding. Explore Kahalu`u Beach, what some call the best snorkel beach in the Hawai`i. Catch the trolley into downtown Kailua-Kona, a mere 4 miles away. Shop at Keauhou, just a mile south of the studio.

The FREE wireless high speed cable modem can be used on your own laptop or of course you can turn off all electronics and just hang out and read a good book.

Why pay for ocean front or ocean view that you will not see since you will be so busy on your daily island adventures all day anyway? Why pay for a pool when you will be jumping in the ocean just down the street? Why pay for an ocean view when you cannot see it at night? The reality is you will most likely want a comfortable private place to relax to get ready for another day in Paradise.

  • Bill's place is amazing! His description of the place is "In these challenging economic times, why spend so much on an oceanfront rental when you can enjoy all the advantages of the beach on a low budget?" and I understood it as "Why spend so much money on a vacation rental if all you're going to do is sleep there?". So frankly, I thought it was just going to have the bare minimum (a bed and a bathroom). Boy, was I wrong. My room had so many amenities that more expensive BnB's don't even offer, such as a microwave, fridge, TV, electric stove, kitchen utensils, and much, much more. On top of that, the room was clean and very well maintained. At $59 per night, this was a bargain. I would definitely stay here again if it's available on my next visit to Kona.

  • My friend and I came to the Big Island for the first time and the first night we stayed at Bill's place. His place is amazing. It's so near white sands beach in Kona. And a short drive from the main Kona commercial area containing establishments such as Walmart, longboard brewery and some good restaurants. So worth it to stay here. Thanks Bill!

  • Nice room, but it's more like a hostel not familiar.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Bill's studio although I didn't spend much time in it during my stay on the Big Island. The place was clean, cosy and cool. Within walking distance from white sands beach and a short drive to Kailua town.
All in all as described and recommended.
    Thank you.

  • We had a fine stay at Bill's studio apartment. It was conveniently located and just 1.4 miles from our family at the Surf and Raquet Club. We walked there and back the first day on island. The apartment met our needs for this trip. Bill was very responsive when we had any questions, and he seemed to appreciate our observations and suggestions.

  • I spent two nights at Bill's house. I believe Bill lives on the other side of the island, so we never met him. He described the place as simple, but it could use a fresh coat of paint and caulking of the cracks.

There are three attached units underneath the main unit upstairs. We heard noise all night from the neighbors next door, and the people above us were heavy-footed.

We paid $95 a night, including taxes and fees. This is an average place, and was not too bad. If you're on a budget and need to save money, you should consider it.

  • Had a 2 night stay at Bill's place. Simple room, but that was all we needed. Upon arrival we found we had been upgraded to a larger end room. Made us happy! (Thank you!) This is a fine place to stay. Helped ease us into the rest of our Hawaiian vacation, a great jumping off place, with nice ocean access near by. We'd stay here again. Mahalo, Julie and Peter.

  • Thanx again for the attention and trust. Our stay was wonderful, we were nearly feeling home at ur place. Missing Big Island already. Aloha from Berlin

  • This place is really seedy. Kind of like some college students used their room to make some money on a rental. Bed is super saggy, Bedspread was stained, bathroom fixtures were broken, furniture was thrift shop quality. Thank god I was only there for one night. I never met Bill. Maybe he's a nice person, but his place is not so nice.

  • Bill's place is clean, efficient, and in a great location. We would definitely stay again. Mahalo!
