Built elevated above the tropical landscape in a glorious oceanfront setting, VILLA EAST combines the finest in Caribbean style with an exquisite Balinese interior theme. This newly renovated vacation home overlooking Pineapple Beach, St. John, and the British Virgin Islands, is surrounded by spectacular ocean vistas and cooled by constant trade winds.
Stunning ocean views fill the entire living and dining area, which expand through to the bedroom to provide 180 degree views of the Caribbean sea.
Furnished with impeccable taste and style, in a mixture of imported hand-made contemporary and antique pieces, ornamentals and artwork, the villa is replete with custom design elements of innovation and functionality.
A private terrace, right on the water, provides immaculate views of the sea, along with a secluded place to relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings and trade wind breezes.
VILLA EAST can accommodate up to 4 guests and includes a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom, Flat screen TV with cable, iPod compatible radio, in room safe (for a small fee), pull out couch, and of course air-conditioning.
The resort is designed in such a way that the units feel extremely private and serene. The Resort is close enough to the town of Red Hook for dining and shopping but also far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. By far Point Pleasant Resort is the most romantic, relaxing, and affordable vacation resort on St. Thomas. The villa really is just an amazing place to just relax, slow down and get away from it all.
VILLA EAST, is not only in a world class resort with lots of amenities but the unit itself is set apart from many other units because it is the closest unit to the pool, as well as closest to the the waterfront restaurant and beach which prevents you from having to walk up and down the steep hills all day long. Being right on the water allows you to fall asleep to the soothing sound of the rolling waves. Dining outdoors on the private wrap around the terrace with views of St. John and the BVI is equally sublime.

Great location on the east end of St. Thomas, we had an amazing time!
A few comments about the resort:
+Security at the gate and around the resort
+Units are condos, not a typical resort but activities desk is staffed during the day if you want snorkel equipment or to book a sail
-Maids didn't come the week we were there, another reviewer said you had to pay extra - not a big deal to us.
A few things about this unit:
Close to the pool. The first night we stayed they were throwing a Full Moon party (super loud)
Ground floor with wrap around balcony - great views and we had iguana friends in the trees most mornings
Typical things that come with island life: a couple minutes hot water in the shower, a few ants, mosquitos (there are screen doors though)
Point Pleasant is every bit as beautiful as its pictures, and Alan's unit is perfectly situated with a gorgeous view and near the restaurant and one of the pools. It was a little frustrating to have to go to the lobby to check email and use the internet...but you go to St. Thomas to get away from it all! Overall, a nice place--and Alan was very quick to respond to emails and to help however he could to make our visit pleasant.
we stayed feb vac a with 2 small kids. this unit was the best location closest to the water with a wrap around porch unlike most others. the staff was very friendly. only thing is maid service doesn't come with the rental if u rent from owner. u have to buy for 40$ a week. very clean..could use some updating and kitchen gadgets were very used and needed some replacing ..but we had a lovely stay overall and were very happy with our vaca
Allan, thank you so much for an unforgettable vacation! The villa is amazing and you were the perfect host. Recommended!!!
This place is excellent! Its right on the water! Between the ocean waves and the night time rain, I got the best sleep I've ever had!
Had a great time at Villa East! Definitely nice to have the kitchen and all the amenities. Easy to get back and forth to Red Hook and the Ferry to St. John (among others). The wrap around balcony and views were great, especially one morning finding a cool iguana in the tree right outside the window. We also did one of the Morningstar sailboat trips to St. John and it was awesome, it left right from the resort, recommend doing it. Although we had the ability to use the resort shuttle to go up and down the hill, we opted to get our cardio and save the tip instead when we didn't have our luggage. Also, there is a dollar/safari bus stop right near the entrance to PP, that was convenient. This is a cool place and a good value in my opinion. Only two things I wished were different would be better pillows and more hot water....but neither were that big of a deal. Would definitely stay again.
Villa East at Point Pleasant is a great place to stay. It's close enough to things like Redhook and the Tutu mall but far enough away to feel "out there". The room was a great size for the two of us. I could wake up to the view from the room any day.
We rented a jeep to get around the island and I would recommend that for anyone thinking about visiting. Parking is easy at the resort and, as long as you can remember to drive on the left, its a great way to get out and see stuff.
Alan was also a great help with tips and ideas for what to do when we visited. He certainly knows the island and always responded to requests promptly. We especially liked his recommendation for Morningstar Charters. Check it out if you have the chance.
All in all, Villa East is a great place to set up base camp to explore St Thomas, St John and the many other islands close-by. My wife and I would definitely recommend this place to people looking for a safe, clean, affordable option for visiting the USVI.
My girlfriend and I had such a great time; you will not be disappointed. The staff at Point Pleasant are very friendly and accommodating. The concierge team is really cool and down to earth; we pretty much planned our whole trip according to their suggestions and we were happy with all of them.
Unit E6 is great because the views are incredible, it's private yet close to the pool and Jack's Bight, the onsite restaurant. The owner of the unit, Alan, responded to our emails within the day and provided lots of helpful information. The unit was clean, had extra pillows, good water pressure and plenty of hot water, playing cards, a kitchen with most supplies you can think of, and the decor is just pretty and super relaxing. We left the sliding glass doors open almost all the time and relished in the ocean breeze and sound of the waves below us.
Jack's Bight is super awesome - the staff is happy to serve you and will chat you up or give you privacy depending on what you're going for. We ate there so many times (3 meals in one day, plus happy hour!) and never got sick of it. The food is good and reasonably priced.
We also visited Coki Beach, which is beautiful and easy to walk to from the resort. In Red Hook, we had drinks and dinner at Duffy's Love Shack. Again, great staff, good music with a dance floor, and amazing drinks that come in souvenir cups that are really (website hidden). John is a must-stop while in St Thomas. The ferry leaves from Red Hook, which is only a five minute drive and the beaches in St. John are just gorgeous. I recommend renting a car right in town where you get off the ferry and driving along the coast stopping at all the beaches at your own pace.
We also had a great night at Iggie's, a beachside bar/restaurant in Bolongo Bay. It's about a 10 minute cab ride from the resort. There (email hidden) band playing covers that was awesome and we played beach volleyball with a really fun group of "mainland" Americans that are living down in St Thomas now (lucky ducks!).
We stayed here for our Honeymoon and had an absolutely amazing time. The inside was clean, tastefully decorated, and the perfect size for two people. The location of the villa is perfect because it's right on the water, right next to the pool, and right next to Jack's (the resorts bar and grill). We loved leaving the sliding doors open to fall asleep to the ocean and wake up to the panoramic amazing view. The kitchen was awesome and well equipped for our use which was making breakfast and (website hidden): If you find some mason jars in the cupboard, those are from our wedding!
Alan was very helpful and responsive throughout our entire trip and even gave us a heads up when the weather started to turn and told us what to expect from the resort management.
Outside of the villa itself, we spent most days driving around the island in our rented jeep. We took a ferry to Water Island one day and took the jeep to St John another day. We also did snuba at Coral World which we highly recommend. Coki beach was the best snorkeling for sure, but the trick is to go early before the crowd hits. If you do plan on staying at Coki for awhile, take the chairs from the closet and your own cooler with drinks because you can really spend money fast getting these from the beach bars. One of our favorite restaurants was the XO Bistro in Red Hook, which had some really awesome meals and drinks at very reasonable prices with a very cool atmosphere.
One downside of going in August was that it was tropical storm season and we got a bit of a scare from Issac. It ended up not being a huge deal, but some of our planned activities like a day sail and eco tour were canceled.
PRO TIP: All beaches on the island are public, even those that are on resort property. Just tell the security guard that you're going to the beach and they'll let you on in.
Our stay here was so fantastic! We'd never been to the Virgin Islands before and now I can't wait to come back. We live a block from the water in Laguna Beach, so I don't usually expect to get blown away by beach time, but this trip exceeded all my expectations.
This was absolutely the perfect place to stay - the staff at Point Pleasant was SO NICE and friendly, the bar/restaurant Jack's is just a few steps away and we loved the bartenders, the drinks, the food, and the ambiance... we could have spent so many more hours there! We were also blown away by how nice all the locals were - we met so many fantastic and interesting (website hidden). Thomas might be home to world's nicest people.
We came with big plans to spend time at Magens Bay and even take the ferry over to St. John, but after our first afternoon at Coki Beach (just a 10 minute walk from the room) we didn't want to spend time anywhere else. What a fantastic beach. I loved everything about it.
Also, we were nervous about our decision to not rent a car while we were on the island, but in the end we were so glad we didn't. The Point Pleasant staff will shuttle you from the resort lobby to the main road, where you can catch a safari bus like a local for a dollar per person down to Redhook, or for another dollar, to Charlotte Amalie.
We met so many incredibly nice locals - at Coki Beach and in Redhook (Island Time Pub was by far our favorite hangout) and I seriously cannot wait until we make it back. Thanks Alan for such a great place to stay!
