Cosy Room with a view Reichstag &Co

Apartment - Private room · Voßstraße, Berlin, Berlin 10117, Germany

The Space

A room better than where President Obama slept - in the Adlon which is just next to our apartment. Just five minutes walk. The penthouse apartment of an historical building from the GDR. On our floor the daughter of the former leader Honecker from the GDR lived. A big -yes- cardboard double-bed. A view of the Holocaust Memorial, and leaning a little leftwards the Reichstag, and the high Berlin TV tower from the 8th floor.Warm and quiet (triple-glazed windows) and could not be more central to everything cool in Berlin. With the windows open it is also relatively quiet, because the room leads toward the quiet courdyard. We are in the middle of the city, though, so there will be a little humming almost always...

We are, at the moment, two polyglott beings who love to have guests from all over the world. My son, born in 2009 and me. We will share our bathroom and kitchen with you. Means you can use everything from dish washing to washing mashine, as well as waterboiler and oven.

Also the Vitamix kitchen mashine is waiting to produce the most delicious power smoothies for you.
And if you like vegan, the first breakfast is included, too. Either I can show you everything or I help you preparing, or we even have breakfast together. As it fits for all of s.

We are really easy going and you can make yourself a home not only in your room but also in the spacious, warm and bright living room. Also two people or a parent with a child will happily fit in (my son has a big kids room and is almost always willing to make friends and share.
Of course it is important to be aware of the fact that with a four year old kid in the house, its not gonna be as quiet as in a monastery in the mornings ;)
We really appreciate if you feel at home. You are always welcome in living room and kitchen, its spacious. You are warmly invited to use everthing, also dont bother with buying the little neccessities like coffee, tea, sugar, salt etc. its all available and at your disposal!
You can have as much privacy or community as you wish.

Nice neighbourhood, a wild mixture of old Berliners from east and west, as well as embassy employees from all the embassys around.

Three minutes walk to Potsdamer Platz, and all transport services. As well around 4 minutes to the beautiful Tiergarten, 10 til Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden etc...Very secure. Great view of Berlin's fireworks in two directions. Fast DSL wireless internet for your laptop etc.

Very good connection with trains, busses and subway very close (three minutes)

Within 6 Minutes by bus to Main Train Station, 20 Minutes by bus to Airport TXL (plus ten min walking to the bus station), 45 Minutes to Schönefeld

At the moment the view from the living room leads to the quickly growing building of the new shopping center, finished supposedly may 2014.

  • It was a really cosy stay at Katrin's apartment in Berlin. I felt very warm welcomed in her environment. Very well located in the Mitte area, 5 minute walk to Postamer Platz, where i spent most of my days at Berlinale filme festival. But also to Brandeburguer gate, Tiergarten ou Friedrichstrasse. An excelente choice if you plan to discover the heart of Berlin. And i guess i discovered my way into a more healthier life with her help. So, to be continued...

  • Katrin is the most wonderful host i ever had. She and her son are very welcoming. The appartament, well situated is very, very close to the city center, and easy to find.
The room is also special, starting with the wonderful view, the nice bed and all the materials for tourists which Katrin provided. All were very helpful.
I totally recommend Katrin, and i'll return to this location every time i'll be in Berlin.

  • Our one-week stay at Katrin's place was more than expected. The modest but cosy apartment has both great atmosphere and location. Katrin was a very good host and provided brochures, guides and maps over Berlin, she will also answer your questions about where to go and what to do etc.
I give this place my best recommendations.

  • We enjoyed our stay very much - but it was too short! We had a hearty welcome and instantly felt like home. The room and bed are comfortable, everything was tidy and the flat is in the very heart of Berlin - you can walk in a few minutes to Potsdamer Platz, Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag and so on. We would really like to come again to this pretty flat and its friendly, uncomplicated inhabitants!

About
A real Berliner, in love with the city and in love with life. We, my husband, my little son (born in 2009) and I, love to have guests and like to connect with people from all over the world. My husband comes from New Zealand, living in Berlin since 2002. We are both interested in creating a new consciousness and culture in this world, because we think it is high time and very much needed. My husband is a communication consultant and I am a health consultant. We speak German and English and I speak Spanish, too. Our big town apartment we rent out when we are somewhere travelling ourselves. When we are at home we rent out one of our bedrooms. The apartment "cozy refuge" is sometimes my own little refuge and most of the times reserved for guests.
