Our 2 guest bedrooms with garden view and private bathrooms have all you need for a relaxing time in So Cal. Located in a lush and quite neighborhood of La Mesa, we are only 15 minutes from downtown San Diego.
Our owner-occupied craftsman home is beautifully decorated and features 2 guest garden view rooms full of amenities like Wifi, TV, ceiling fans, ample closet space, etc.
One room has a King size Tempur-Pedic bed and pillows, the other a Queen size pillow top bed.
Each room has their own private bathrooms. One (full) with a bathtub and one (3/4) with a shower. This accommodation is perfect for a family of 4 or to give more privacy to a smaller party. WE OCCUPY THE MASTER BEDROOM.
Our guests have access to the gardens, the relaxing hammock by the fountain, the kitchen for making coffee or tea, the breakfast room or our outdoor pergola for eating (take-out only).
The only off limit areas are our master bedroom, private deck and garage.
Interaction with Guests
Mario works from home so he's more likely to be the one greeting you at the door, show you around and answer all the questions you might have. We do live in the house but conduct a very quite life.
Our neighborhood is on a hill and walking distance from the charming La Mesa Village which offers restaurants, bars, shops, gym, malls, public trans, etc.
The walk is very scenic having a golf course right outside the backyard of the house. Also the municipal pool is set back outside neighborhood for a convenient swim.
The Trolley that goes into San Diego is only 10 minutes walk from the house and through the village center. Freeways are also right outside the neighborhood for a convenient drive to the beach, or the city's nightlife. We have plenty of street parking. From and to the airport is a 20 minutes drive or a $50 cab drive. Public trans is also available but it will take longer.
Other Things to Note
We have maps and a welcome book with information to help you get familiar with the surrounding area.
The kitchen is only to be used for preparing coffee or tea but you can bring in take-out food and enjoy it at the table inside or outside under the pergola by the garden. No loud late parties, no overnight outside guests, no recreational drugs or smoking on the property.
We had an amazing time, was so peaceful and tranquil little town. Great food down the street. Mario and Ken were so kind and informative, had alot to share and we felt such a warmness we wanted to stay much longer!!! The house is beautiful has so much character and beautiful pieces from all around the world.
Ken and Mario (Kenario) were great hosts! Their house exactly matches what was pictured. They live in a nice quiet neighborhood in a convenient area.
Ken and Mario have a wonderful home and we really enjoyed our stay. I couldn't recommend it more highly.
We had a positively A+ experience staying with Mario and Ken. The accommodations were just as described, attractive and clean; the home and setting were very peaceful. And our hosts were friendly, supportive and very knowledgeable about San Diego, health, organic food and composting and recycling.
Their dogs, "the girls," are friendly, well-behaved and well-contained.
Ken and Mario are very welcoming and very thoughtful.
The location is La Mesa, which was great for us. But it's easy to get to downtown San Diego as well.
This is an exceptional Airbnb. We hope to return soon.

Ken- I'm a raw food chef and one of the founders of Kale University. I'm also a health advocate, public speaker and the executive chef and facilitator at The Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, CA. This is my dream job, teaching people about organic gardening, making raw food recipes and other fun, healthy choices.
I enjoy a quiet life with the time to love, laugh, travel and reflect.
My husband Mario is from Italy and we are going on 17 years together and we're having the time of our lives. He is a theatrical entertainer and we work on shows and performances together. Mario is also a dancer and has performed on television and in theaters across Italy and the United States. His performing has taken us to other countries such as Mexico, Greece, Japan and Sweden.
I am also a photographer and painter and have created a body of work that combines both of those worlds. Our Art has also taken us around the world in search of beautiful patterns and compositions. Our online sites are (website hidden) and (website hidden).
Mario and I have traveled a lot over the years and we enjoy meeting people from other worldly cultures. Life is meant to be experienced in a way that involves connecting with people and it's those interactions that make it exciting, enriching and entertaining.
We are extremely happy and healthy.
Life is good!
