The Space

Located in Impruneta, a charming town on the edge of Chianti, Apartment Beatrice is a large studio apartment of 35 sq.m. consisting of:
• Room / living room with double bed, dining table with four chairs, kitchenette and washing machine
• Bathroom with shower
• Romantic balcony overlooking the park of the Villa.
Old terracotta floors and high hand decorated ceilings.
All furniture and paintings on the walls are antique and belong to our family collection.
Walls are thicker than 50 cm (20 inches), as it was use in this kind of old building to ensure cool even in the hottest summers.

Apartment Beatrice is located on the first floor of our family Villa, a 16th century Villa, surrounded by a beautiful park and by olive groves.

Villa Saladini is therefore the ideal place to relax surrounded by a beautiful environment, but also an excellent base for visiting Florence , the beautiful Chianti countryside and the most charming towns in Tuscany.

Guest Access

Our guests will have full access to the all property which includes two large sunny lawns, a big shady area under pine trees and orchads, 6 hectars of olive groves and over 20 hectars of wood.

The Neighborhood

Impruneta is hill town located between the valleys of the Greve and the Ema streams, about 20 minutes south of Florence. It was known in ancient times as "in prunetis" or "in pineta" (within the pine woods) and indeed remnants of beautiful pine forests may still be seen interspersed among the olive groves on some of the surrounding hills.

The Church of Santa Maria at Impruneta became ever more well-known for the sacred and miraculous effigy of the Madonna housed there. Pilgrims came in large numbers and a famous fair took place and still takes place on the feast of Saint Luke, 18 October. Originally a feast associated with the movement and sale of livestock, it is now celebrated with stalls, dinners and horse races.

A small village important for the production of pottery had developed near the church. The first record of terracotta manufacture dates from 1098 and the production of terracotta tiles, pottery and bricks has continued to flourish to the present time. The church and its treasure, and the pottery kilns and their output are the principal reasons to visit Impruneta.

However, there are many other interesting sights in Impruneta and nearby, and throughout the year there are festivals and cultural activities.

And if you are interested in castles, Chianti is full of them and they are described in the itineraries of the Chianti Castles route.

Getting around

The Villa is located less than 1 km from the town's main square and from shops and amenities.
There is a bus stop in town and there also is a bus stop for the nearby city of Florence (12 Km) in front of entrance gate.
Buses run on average every 30 minutes and the last ride in the evening arrives in Impruneta around 8:50 pm. Buses are perfect for visiting Florence during the day and return in the evening and we will be happy to provide all the necessary information and timetables.

For those coming by car, Villa Saladini is ideally located as a base to explore Tuscany .
We are located just 6 km from the exit “Firenze-Impruneta"of the A1 highway and from the beginning of the road which connects Florence to Siena. From here you can easily reach all places of cultural interest and the most beautiful towns in Tuscany, such as:
• Siena : 60 km 1 hour
• Pisa 100 km 1 hour and 30 minutes
• Lucca : 90 km 1 hour
• Pistoia : 50 km 45 minutes
• Arezzo : 80 km 1 hour
and also San Casciano Val di Pesa (12 km) , Greve in Chianti ( 15 km) , Certaldo (36 km ), Colle Val d' Elsa (40 km ), San Gimignano (45 km), and the renowned spa town of Montecatini Terme ( 60 km).

  • A great place to stay when visiting Tuscany. Can highly recommend.

  • It was a pleasure spending our honeymoon at marco and perla's wonderful villa. The Villa is 500 years old surrounded with olive trees and as you stay there you can feel the magic inside and the ancient lovely atmosphere. Marco was showing us around the entire villa, and we felt as we went back in time living the history. Perla and marco are very nice and great hosts, definitely recommended!

  • It is an exceptional place if you want to visit Florence, San Geminiano and Siena. In the middle of everything. Plus; the house itself is a tourist attraction. Its history goes back to 14-15th centuries. In the middle of nice and big garden with olive, pine trees and many other fruit trees. It is quite peaceful and at the same time close to many touristic attractions.

All around are Tuscan farms and vineyards. You can visit any.

Rooms are very nicely decorated and fit all your needs. Clean and lovely. It is really romantic. Very nice.

Perla, his husband Marco are wonderful friends during your visit. You can not get such warm and friendly environment if you stay in an conventional hotel. So this house is strongly advised those who like to visit Toscana.

  • Perla and Marco were great hosts and we were very grateful to be hosts in their beautiful villa. The welcome by Perla with her delicious homemade olive oil and lasagna was absolutely perfect, we couldn't have asked for anything better. Perla provided us with great tips for the region which made our experience even better. The villa is beautiful and the apartment is absolutely wonderful. I would recommend it to everybody, we enjoyed it so much! It is the perfect base to explore the region and we had a fantastic holiday. We would definitely like to come back in the future!

  • Perla and Marco were excellent hosts and were extremely welcoming. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed staying with them and particilarly loved the history of their Villa. It provided a good base exlore the Chianti region by car. We loved the home cooked meal they provided for us on request and would definitely recommend them to others.

  • Great place to stay to get away from the traffic and noise of Florence. Easy access to bus for Florence and great place to travel from to see the rest of the Tuscany region. Apartment was updated and well furnished, making it hard to realize you were staying in a 15th Century villa. The balcony was a great place to enjoy meals. Nearby town of Impruneta was a great place to pick up food or have a meal out. Host provided exceptional information about the area.

  • We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Perla’s place. The room and the amenities are perfect and the balcony is irreplaceable for a memorable stay.
I would recommend Villa Saladini to everyone interested in visiting the places of interest in Florence, but wanting to spend a quiet part of the day in a wonderful landscape.
A car is not necessary for traveling to Florence, but would help especially in exploring Chianti and other towns in Tuscany.
Perla’s place is at the best location for such an endeavour as it is on the border between Chianti and the wider Florence area.
As for the hosts, they were wonderful: ‘there’ to help when asked for assistance and ‘missing’ when we wanted to enjoy quietly a glass of Chianti classico and the beautiful surrounding.
We hope we’ll have a chance to stay there again and highly recommend the place and the host.

  • We had an excellent experience being at Perla's special place. The room is spacious, private, full of light, with all the necessary amenities (kitchen and kitchenware, table, chairs, etc.) to spend a great time. It's part of an old "villa" next to their own "oliveto" in full sight from the private balcony, in charming Chianti.
The villa is located in a strategic spot to visit the Chianti, Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra and everything in between.
Perla was a wonderful host, always on top of things and wanting to provide us with a comfortable stay. She was very personable and always available for questions, directions and suggestions.
    We would definitely come back.
