The cottage was very nice! It's in a great location, 5 minute walk from the beach, in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Julie had the cottage cleaned and ready for arrival and welcomed with beverages in the refrigerator. I would highly recommend staying here!
I have been traveling to the Tampa area regularly for the past year and staying at a hotel each time. Julie's place is such a breath of fresh air and cure for my hotel burnout. Her place is updated, clean, and feels like a home away from home. Additionally, you cannot beat the location, which is 2 blocks away from a bustling downtown area of restaurants and shops.
Julie is an incredible host, who really goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is pleasant. Knowing that it was my first time to use AirBnB, Julie even let me come check out the place ahead of time before my first stay. I'm looking forward to many more stays at Julie's home.
I didn't get to meet Julie, but the location and cottage were perfect! I really liked that there was an a/c both downstairs and upstairs. This is important in Florida. It was super clean and nice. The neighborhood was absolutely beautiful and is within easy walking distance to the bay and a lot of cool restaurants and bars. I will definitely stay here again.
Julie has left no stone unturned in making her guests feel welcomed and comfortable! Upon arrival we found a complete "manual" for way-finding inside the cottage as well as the surrounding area. Because she knew our stay was brief, Julie also printed a 24-hour guide to St. Petersburg and added personal notes about her favorite city highlights including restaurants, shopping and site seeing. We found ourselves adding many of her suggestions to our "to do" list and were very pleased we did as well as happy to have a local perspective for our explorations.
Everything we needed (or perhaps forgot) to make for an enjoyable stay was provided - bottled water, coffee, half-n-half, soda, orange juice, sunblock, beach towels, beach bag, q-tips, razors, hair dryer, toiletries...you name it! Not to mention, she most graciously loaned us her beach chairs for our afternoon excursions!
The cottage was super-clean, very comfortable, and private despite having a shared courtyard with the main house. The courtyard had a wonderful seating area with lots of tropical plants - creating a unique oasis and alternative to the standard porch or balcony.
The neighborhood was also beautiful, quiet, walkable and conveniently located close to many shops, restaurants and museums. Additionally, the cottage is located only 15-20 minutes from some of Florida's most beautiful beaches, including Pass-a-Grille!
Because of Julie, we had a wonderful experience in St. Petersburg and definitely plan to stay at her charming, old cottage again soon!
Julie is a wonderful, thoughtful hostess. The cottage is delightful and perfectly located ..quiet at night, but in easy walking distance to the restaurants and shops along Beach Drive.
Julie's binder explaining the cottage workings, stores, beaches, restaurants was
This was our first airbnb experience. We stayed a Julie's cottage on 7th avenue for one week.
We have stayed in many hotels in St. Pete but we enjoyed her place more than any hotels. Her cottage was so charming. The location could not have been better. We felt so welcomed by the well stocked refrigerator, fine bed linens, down comforter, extra blankets, beach towels and cooler, etc. Her list of recommendation on where to shop was great. We discovered shops and boutiques we did not know before. We could not ask for a better accommodation.
Julie, thank you very much for being a great host. Our stay in your cottage was wonderful.
