Enter your secret garden guest house down a inviting, landscaped pathway. The welcoming, light-filled interior creates a serene, peaceful atmosphere amid lively Venice. Cook a gourmet meal in the complete kitchen, relax in your private garden or have a soothing soak in the beautifully-tiled tub. Walk to a variety of eclectic restaurants. A supermarket is across the street or Whole Foods is two blocks away. The beach and Venice boardwalk, Abbot Kinney Boulevard & Santa Monica are minutes away.

The space
Your guest cottage is tucked behind our house, completely secluded and private. The kitchen includes a stove, mini frig, coffee maker, (and French press with local coffee provided for coffee lovers!), microwave, toaster, disposal, pots and pans, wine and drinking glasses and all utensils. We make sure you have plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus a basket full of treats on arrival as a welcome gift from us. In the closet, you'll find an ironing board and iron, extra blankets and sheets, luggage rack, broom and swifter. You'll enjoy your tv with streaming from Netflix, Hulu, HBO, PBS, Acorn and much more. Great sound and picture. Your bathroom includes toilet paper, soaps, shampoo and lotion to get you started on your vacation. Help yourself to everything in the house—if you run out of anything, we are conveniently located directly across from a market. A hair dryer and an initial supply of those items you might have forgotten are available. There's a luxurious bathtub and refreshing shower for relaxation. Wifi and assortment of reading material (including books about Venice and Santa Monica history and the local hiking trails) are provided on request during COVID 19 times. Your sleeping area includes a super comfy bed, a clock radio with usb charger and great lighting above the bed. The soothing, private garden is full of lavender and day lilies. Hummingbirds and monarch butterflies will be your frequent visitors. There's security lighting for your safety throughout the entrance and garden. BRAND NEW! Washer/dryer for your private use! Street parking.

We are a few minutes drive to the beach or a 20-minute walk—perfect for quiet, restful getaway but close to all the action and liveliness Venice has to offer. Literally steps from your door are some great restaurants: barbecue, Mexican, unique sausage restaurant, iVietnamese, healthy rotisserie chicken, to name a few. There are lots of fun boutique stores within walking distance, plus a golf course and park. A little further away, you can spend an entertaining day at Venice boardwalk (20-minute walk to beach), Muscle Beach, Santa Monica Pier--or satisfy your shopping addictions on Abbot Kinney Boulevard , Main Street or visit 3rd Street Mall in S.M.

Hi! I am a retired elementary school librarian as well as a children's book illustrator. I love photography and art and never run out of fun subject matter as I roam the streets of Venice. All sorts of exercise makes me happy, especially dancing. I live in the front house with my husband, Pete, and our dogs Willie and Maggie, and cat, Augie. Pete is a musician and also retired from his position in the visually impaired office at the local high school. He is a hard-core movieholic, having worked as a graphic designer previously for Landmark Theatres for 20 years. We also love animals and occasionally enjoy boarding and cuddling our furry buddies. Friday nights you can find us checking out one of the great local restaurants--we are always on the lookout for new and different places.
