Battery Park City 2BR/2Bath - w/Cat

Apartment - Entire home/apt · South End Ave, New York, NY 10281, United States

This is a great lower Manhattan location.

Most important to us -- you will take care of a cat who may not warm up to you. If this is not something you are comfortable with, we are sorry but that is the situation.

The Space

2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in lower Manhattan near the Statute of Liberty, Wall Street, the World Trade Center site and Century 21 Department Store. We have a queen size bed in the main bedroom, a twin bed in the second bedroom and a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room.

Most anything you would want in your own home your will find here -- WiFi both in the apartment and in many convenient hot spots near the building, cable TV, a treadmill in the apartment, dishwasher, microwave oven, full kitchen. There is a laundry room on the second floor.

Walk out the back door of the building and stroll along the Hudson River, watching sailboats and cruise ships go by the Statue of Liberty. Play volleyball (there is a net set up just south of the Marina, which is home to yachts, sailboats and a sailing school) or dine on the water at one of many offering a beautiful view of the river.

City busses (the M9 and M20) stop in front of the building complex. Subway stations (A, C, E, R, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are a ten minute walk. There is a Citibike dock at the side of the building.

Our cat, who is five years old, will be your responsibility while we are away.

On dates marked as unavailable we may be able to host you, for a significantly lower rate, but we will sleeping in the apartment. Contact if interested.

  • Spent a wonderful week in the best location in NYC in David and family’s spacious apartment with Hudson River view. The apartment worked well for our family of 5 and had everything we needed for our stay.
David is a great host and made sure we knew where to go in the local areas, restaurants, shopping – like having a local guide - a great compliment to the NYC guide book.
Citrus the cat was keeping to herself, and was amiable when being fed.
Next time we’re in NYC we hope David and family is out of town so we can stay at “home”

The apartment is perfectly situated in NYC: the neightbourhood is calm and the promenade along the Hudson river is lovely !
We had a great time in NYC and David's apartment is really not far away from the subway. His family is charming and they gave us a lot of insider tips.

The apartment wasn't very tidy and clean and most of all the cat was very agressive with us (hissing and attacking), even after a whole week !

  • In general, the whole airbnb experience: prepaying, communicating with the host prior to the trip and staying in an apartment instead of a hotel was a great way to visit New York.

    Our specific experience
    - Great communication with host prior to stay. David always responded immediately to any e-mails. He provided lots of great information prior to our arrival.
    - Incredible location! location! location! Walk outside and see the Statue of Liberty and the WTC in a short walk. Easy access to the subway, which we used all week. Cabs always available in front of building.
    - Plenty of room for four. Very comfortable.
    - Neutral - Their cat kept to herself and was easy to take care of.

  • I stayed with David during Hurricane Irene and had to be evacuated. David was even quicker than the media or the building management in contacting me and keeping me informed. He offered alternatives and solutions and was ready to support me. He also offered to refund the nights I couldn't stay there, without me even asking.

As for the apartment, it is exactly as advertised, in a great location, with quick connections to the rest of New York City. When you arrive, it feels like you are stepping into the apartment as a friend of the family. The cat is very low maintenance and everything you need for Citrus is there. Don't expect the 'hotel maid' to have prepared everything to be spotless clean, but feel home and cosy with the Feldman's.

  • David is an amazing host! He's easy-going, well-organized, hospitable, communicative and is really dedicated in helping travelers to optimize their NYC experience. He shows us around the apartment (great location!) and Hudson River (less than 1 min walk!). He even kindly let us borrow his bike to cycle along the river bank, which makes the whole stay even more fantastic. We are also luck in meeting his daughter: an adorably smart girl. Citrus the Cat is a cute yet decent creature: she's very quiet and polite!
In addition, David's apartment is modern and clean, and is about 8 min walk from the nearest subway. In general, I strongly recommend David and his apartment.

  • Wow! We really loved this place! David and Roxanne were very helpful, quick answering our questions and always nice. The cat, Citrus, is really lovely and easy going. You could even feel the way she missed her owners!
    About the situation... just PERFECT!
I absolutely recommend this apartment, it's awesome for exploring this amazing city. We love New York!

  • The appartement was very nice to sleep in. David and Roxanne are very welcoming, our relationship with the cat was a little more difficult because he smelt our cat so we think he felt threatened.
The accomodation is very well located.
In conclusion we recommand this location for the real good price and the warmest welcome we received.
Thank you David and Roxanne !

  • David was very thorough and very considerate. The place is just great. I highly recommend taking a walk by Hudson River...its spectacular. The location is very central to downtown, and a short train ride to anywhere in NYC. I had a great time staying at David's place.

  • This place is really awesome! David and Roxanne are extremely hospitable and welcoming. The area is quiet and fun and we could see the Statue of Liberty from the outside of the apartment since it's right on the water. We loved every second!

  • David and Roxanne were great, their cat is very charming and friendly, even with a complete stranger. (Rare! I think even self-proclaimed non-cat people would like this cat....) Apt was in a beautiful location close to the river and was close to the 1, so transportation around NYC was relatively easy. It was comfortable & welcoming. I was very grateful for David's quick response to my inquiry and questions. Great hosts!
