This is a true Williamsburg spot, not like the places in Bushwick.
Fun, safe and so close to L & G-train Lorimer stop or Hewes JMZ stop. The JMZ train goes straight to JFK as well, for your convenience and the apartment is literally a block away from the train stop.
A less than 10 minute train ride to Manhattan and 10 minute walk to Bedford Ave. Extremely quick cab ride to Manhattan since we are right at the base of the Williamsburg Bridge (which is also beautiful to walk over).
There is a slew of bars and restaurants, a grocery store, and a cafe called Moto that I'm quite partial to down the block. A new, fun bar just opened around the block called The Flat. It's a great place to grab a drink or dance. I can tell you much more about the neighborhood because I've lived in it for 6 years.
It's also a 5 minute walk to Dumont, Barcade, Diner, Le Barricou, Sunac Grocery Store, Gimme Coffee, Huckleberry Bar, Lady Jays, great Indian & Thai food...
I work as an art director and although I'm pretty busy, I'm social and friendly. I work hard to create a clean and respectful space where you can feel right at home. I'm more than happy to give recommendations or do whatever it takes to enrich your stay.
Please call or email if you have any questions or want to come take a look.
The room, the common areas including full kitchen, bathroom and yard. I want you to feel at home!
Interaction with Guests
I want you to feel free to have your New York adventure! I am very easily reached and very communicative if you have any questions, need recommendations, etc. I really try to do what I can so that you have a pleasant stay and feel attended to. However, I know you are here to experience the city and there's so much to explore so I won't get in the way ;)
There's a little bit of everything in this neighborhood. Broadway has bars, restaurants, grocery stores, spas, bike shops, boutiques...literally everything, ha. However, the apartment is on a side street from Broadway so it's actually very quiet and peaceful on the block. The neighbors are all pleasant and friendly. In terms of safety, the police station is literally around the corner.
But really one of the best things about the location is the access to the metro subway trains. We are next to three major trains that all intersect nearby, which is rare and makes it super easy to get around! Yup, this is totally the best neighborhood in NYC ;-)
Again one of the best things about this apartment is it's location. It is very unique in that it's close to 3 of the major Brooklyn trains. It's literally around the corner from the JMZ (which takes less than 10 minutes to get to Manhattan) a block from the G train, and ten minute walk from the L train. There's also a car service station a block away if you want a taxi.
Please communicate as best as you can with me! I'm more than happy to accommodate your needs.
You're free to use anything in the kitchen, living room, bathroom, yard...it's your home for your stay. Just please be respectful. And most importantly, please enjoy your stay and this incredible city!
This is a private entrance into the building lobby so you can go straight into the room if you'd like. It's very convenient.
I didn't see much of Pam while I was there but she was very kind and attentive to my needs.
The windows do let in a lot of light but they’re also facing the street at ground level so anyone on the street can see right in. I prefer privacy so I kept the curtains closed the whole time.
The apartment has no television and no microwave! I love it!
The nearby elevated train is both a convenience and a blight. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance.
There Internet speed was 45/5 Mbps.
The place is in a very nice location, close to 2 subway stations (and a third not so far away) which will get you to Manhattan in less than 20 minutes, and there are also plenty of eating options and utility stores (grocery, laundry) nearby.
The room is as advertised, very open with a comfortable bed and the separate entrance is very nice. Pam is a very nice and mindful host, she would immediately attend to anything that came up and make sure that the place was always clean.
However, something very inconvenient did come up. During the coldest period of the year, the heating system broke down in at least 10 different occasions while I was there, and waking up with your feet and hands basically frozen is not a very pleasant situation. The problem took too long to be solved which led me to believe that the overall building infrastructure is not very solid. To be fair, Pam would have someone come over to 'fix' it every time the problem happened and it is technically not her fault that they weren't doing their job properly, but nights of sleep were lost nevertheless.
All in all, I still very much recommend the room, the stay was extremely pleasant up until the point that the heating problems started, which I believe have been firmly addressed :)
Pam's a great host. Super knowledgeable about the city and the neighborhood and always up for a nice chat to help make you feel right at home. The space is great -- the room is very private, super clean, and the location is great. Highly recommended.
Great host and location. Next to the hassidic community and close to the Hewes and Lorimer train station. Pam hosted us last minute saved our butts!
We had a lovely time in NYC and at Pam's place. Pam was a great host and easy going. It is close to the subway and to all the bars in Williamsburg.
