With candlelight, a cushy bed and Aretha's very own recipes in the kitchen, we'll make you feel like a well-rested human!
Rock steady in our brand-new BNB less than a mile from legendary Sun Studio! You'll get your own royally-appointed room inspired by the Queen of Soul, Ms. Aretha Franklin.
Our 3200-square-foot mansion for music lovers is equipped with two bathrooms, four bedrooms, an enormous kitchen, a miniature ballroom...and a porch just perfect for sitting and strumming a guitar :)
Did I mention we've got our very own parking lot, too?
Like an unfinished symphony, the place is still in progress, mind you - we could use lots of suggestions and ideas for making it into a true paradise for the phonically-inclined!
But we promise to treat you like a VIP while you're here...because you are one, to us :) Expect a fresh-made breakfast and freshly-laundered sheets, for starters, and nonstop Southern hospitality through-and-through: we'll give you tons of pointers on the coolest places to visit and the juiciest BBQ around.

Interaction with Guests
I live on-site and would love to be there to greet you and guide you in your stay, when I'm not off at my community garden nearby!
The neighborhood can be hard to find, for some, but we think it's a total gem - not downtown proper, so parking is a cinch, but within walking distance of most of the epic sites like Sun Studio and Stax. The street is quiet and surrounded by local nonprofits like the Memphis Interfaith Association and the Memphis Food Bank. We'd love to do a voluntour, if you're interested in giving back while you're here!
We know you're going places and we love to help you get around! We've got tons of on-site parking for the drivers out there. If you're on foot, the house is within a few blocks of eight different bus lines, 1.5 miles from downtown, 0.4 miles from the trolley and just a short ways to catch the free shuttle to Graceland from Sun Studio! We also highly recommend Lyft and Uber. To get here from the airport, you can take a taxi for $25 or try out the bus for $1.75. The schedule can be found by searching for MATA or using (website hidden) Maps (though it won't list Route 2, which is the most direct if you don't mind walking a bit!)
Other Things to Note
PLEASE, oh please bear with us, as this dear old house is over 100 YEARS OLD. My wonderful friend Andy is my partner in crime as an innkeeper, and we're still getting the hang of things. One day we hope to turn the house into a nonprofit center, so any support you give us gets us closer to changing this city for the better!
Smoking is completely cool outside on our spacious front and back porches and pets are allowed, as long as they're cuddly and you clean up after them if they have accidents ^_~
What a delightful place Jaime has, so welcoming & pleasing, as she renovates her beautiful old home!
Jamie was a fantastic and welcoming host, we felt very at home at her lovely and charming space. The place is quite close to down town and Jamie was able to give us great advice on the local area and where to eat and what to see. She is also a great and kind person and we had some great breakfast conversations, she was very insightful into Memphis culture and history. Her doggie became an instant friend with our dog Helga, and Jamie let them hang out while we had some mommy and daddy (email hidden) :) We would love to stay again if we are every in Memphis.
We enjoyed our stay with Jamie. She made an easy arrangement for a late arrive, we found our room which was spacious. The neighborhood was very convenient to Beale Street where we were hanging out.
Jamie was a great host and really goes out of her way to make you feel at home and comfortable. Have me such a thoughtful (and yummy) gift to get me through my drive on from Memphis.
I did not feel totally comfortable walking in the area around the house but, having said that, I had no issues in the area or Memphis in general.
Worked tirelessly to make our stay as memorable as possible! Nice and warm too!
This was a wonderful choice! Jamie is very thoughtful and approachable-- that came across from her first message confirming the reservation-- and the house was very inviting. Of all the places we stayed on our roadtrip, this was by far our favorite as it seemed so restorative. She does have a dog (which was probably listed but I didn't notice it) who is also very cute, just something to keep in mind if you are not expecting it. Thanks very much for everything!
Jamie is a wonderful host! The room was great -- just as shown in the photo. She left out delicious homebaked things and coffee for breakfast. Lots of vintage furniture and decor; it was a very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing stay.

I once sat on a poisonous caterpillar. So if you are a poisonous caterpillar, I'd watch yourself around me. Otherwise, I'm a big goof and love to fuss over people :)
