A spacious and airy 3 bedroom/ 2 bath home, with tree-house views of the surrounding California oaks and redwoods, a picture-perfect view of Mount Tamalpais, and easy access to all the Bay Area.
Our house sits on a hillside, to the rear of a large lot, and is surrounded by trees and garden. We've designed an open, gracious living space that takes in the outdoors from every room.
Our great room, with kitchen, living room, and dining area, is plenty big for a nice gathering. High beamed ceilings, huge windows, and a large deck give the room a wonderfully expansive feeling. The well-equipped kitchen will inspire any chef, the dining table will easily fit eight, and there is extra seating for three around the kitchen island. Or step right out to the deck, BBQ, and picnic table for an al fresco meal!
The master bedroom has high ceilings, a California king bed, french doors to a private deck (perfect for morning coffee), and an en suite bath tiled in gorgeous earth-toned hues.
Upstairs, the second bedroom has a queen sized bed and tree-top views. The third bedroom, with a wall of great children's books, has a twin bed, as well as a fold out queen futon. The upstairs bath has tub with shower (and more great views). Finally, if you need to sleep more folks, the living room has a full futon.
Nearby, there are a number of farmer’s markets, ethnic restaurants, and our local coffee shop, Catahoula.
We are also within walking distance to Wildcat Canyon, a part of the amazing Tilden Park, with miles of hiking trails. Nearby Alvarado Park will delight any child or child-at-heart with its rambling creek, rock hopping opportunities, picnic facilities and great playground.
For those who want a little movie action or a shopping spree, Hilltop Mall is five minutes away, as is the San Pablo Casino. We are also close to Berkeley’s 4th Street shops, the Berkeley and Richmond marinas, Pt. Isabel (for dog lovers and their pooches) and Solano Avenue, with its abundance of boutique shops, galleries, eateries, jewelry stores and dancing spots. We enjoy close proximity to the hidden gem town of Pt. Richmond, with its plethora of artists, cafes, and easy access to trails on the Bay.
Berkeley is a quick ten minutes away, Oakland only fifteen, and Muir Woods, Sausalito, Napa and Sonoma, and San Francisco are all just thirty minutes away. If you need public transportation, the El Cerrito del Norte BART station is seven minutes away.
Please feel free to bring your dog to enjoy your vacation with us! We have a large, dog-friendly yard!
Guests will have access to the whole house, garden and grounds.

We love being surrounded by nature and having access to all Bay Area's perks and attractions. Trails and views, great restaurants, music venues, shops, galleries... How can we not be in love with where we live?

This place is absolutly adorable, a very quiet house in a charmant neighborhood. The description was exactly corresponding to what we found and we had a great feeling upon our arrival. Our kids loved the place and have immediatly found their bedrooms corresponding to their style. We were extremely delighted by the wonderfull sunset view from the dining room and the parent's bedroom over the hills. We found a very warm welcome upon our arrival and felt like if we were at home.
The proximity with regional park was very appreciated, and places for nice walks.
Thanks to Limor and Virginia for sharing this place,
Limor and Virginia's home was the perfect home away from home. Wonderful hosts, everything was easy and well organized. They even welcomed us with some goodies on the table and in the fridge. The beds were comfortable and the location peaceful. There was plenty of hiking in walking distance from the house and restaurants/markets a short car trip away. My friends and I (architects and designers) loved the layout of their home and the lighting that spread throughout the house from day to evening was beautiful. The open kitchen, outside spaces, and views provided the perfect backdrop for our gathering with friends we studied abroad with in Italy. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much for sharing this gem in the forest!
