This bright, modern, recently refurbished first-floor apartment is the perfect base to explore London: walking distance from the historical Tower of London, the buzzing, multicultural hub of Brick Lane and Spitalfields, where you can look at Nicholas Hawksmoor architecture, go on Jack the Ripper tours or have a pint in Tracey Emin’s favourite boozer.
In the immediate vicinity of Wapping and Whitechapel are Gordon Ramsay’s old gastropub The Narrow (I recommend the Bloody Marys), as well as Kate Moss’s old hangout The George Tavern, London’s oldest surviving music hall Wilton’s, and some of the best Indian food outside the sub-continent. A 15-minute walk away is the high street in Wapping, where you can shop at an old-fashioned butcher, baker and greengrocer.
The tube is a 7-minute walk, and we are on both the East London Line and the Docklands Light Railway. Shoppers and culture hounds are a half-hour tube ride from the hubbub of Oxford Street and the West End, St Paul’s, Shoreditch, Dalston and Canary Wharf and are just a couple of stops away on the Underground.
The flat is in a quiet cul-de-sac, next to a convent and opposite allotments, which you can peer into from both bedroom windows. You’ll have the whole place to yourself, so you’ll be able to make yourself at home, although I’ll always be a phone call away if you need any help or advice (I can recommend lots of pubs and restaurants nearby!) Both bedrooms have plenty of storage space. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, while the second bedroom has a double airbed.
The kitchen is recently refurbished and has hardwood flooring, an oven, dishwasher and roomy fridge. There’s also a washing machine in the utility room and a balcony that’s full of herbs and flowers. There’s one bathroom: the shower is temperamental but the bath works fine.
Feel free to make use of the high-speed wi-fi internet.

We (group of 4) stayed at Jess for 6 nights and found it a charming little gem in the heart of shadewell.
The flat was clean and had everything you wished for.
We stayed at Jess flat and it was great .good location plenty of space and we felt right at home !! Jess was great to deal with very quick to respond and very easy going .totally recommend !
I had a great time staying at Jess' flat whilst going to the 2012 Olympics. Jess was very welcoming and polite. She gave me and my sister access to everything in the flat, including use of Sky+. The flat was bright, clean and organised. The flat is close to convenient stores and only a few minutes walk to the DLR and Overground stations. Jess ensured all relavent information for staying in the flat were covered on a fact sheet and provided extra information for getting around London, like tube maps, river boat services and how the Olympic games would affect travel. She responded promptly to any problems.
If anyone is considering a place to stay whilst in London I would highly recommend staying at Jess'. Thanks for having us!
