About This Listing
Lovingly designed, exactly where you need to be in Berlin. Living as you know it from magazines. I will give you tips on how to get the best out of your Berlin Visit and the neighborhood. My doors are open.
This apartment has been designed with a lot of attention to details, and is located in the up-and-coming North part of Neukoelln.
Bare brick walls and old-Berlin ceiling moldings together are creating design ambience. The floors are newly finished old berliner wood floors.
With 47sqm, it is spacious enough for two guests who can sleep on one 140cm x 200cm-sized bed. Two blankets. I also have a stereo system which can be connected to your ipod if you want to listen to music.
I am making my 2 bikes available for you to use. Anytime, free.
The footprint of the apartment is unique and it has a funky walk-through bathroom. The kitchen features an open seating/dining area as well as a balcony.
There are a lot of bars and restaurants in the Kreuzkoelln area which is within walking distance. Overall a tastefully furnished spot at the epicentre of Berlin´s hipness. Go get your piece of the cake.
Absolutely no smoking in the apartment!
and no animals!

Ben was a very friendly and accommodating host - pre-arrival communication was excellent and he was at the apartment when we arrived.
The neighbourhood is great, close to several subway/metro/train stops and within 10-30 minutes walking distance to many great restaurants, bars and the amazing Tempelhof abandoned airfield. Ben also provides two bikes with the apartment, though a wrench would've been useful for adjusting the seat height, as both were a little too high for my girlfriend to ride safely.
The apartment was just as described, although the bedroom lets in a lot of light (fine during the day, less so at night) due to sheer white curtains. The bigger issue however, is that the unit is located directly over a Turkish bar which tends to get very loud on weekend nights - Ben informed us of this upon arrival, and provided us with a "buzzer" which notified the bar if they were too loud. We're quite laid back and can sleep through a lot, but Saturday night it was non-stop and very loud until after 5am. I buzzed quite regularly from 2-5am, waiting through a fight during which the police were called. Finally returned to sleep only to be awoken again by what sounded like two shotgun blasts (however no police returned, so I'm assuming/hoping it wasn't). To be fair, Ben also left his phone number if the bar owners didn't respond to the buzzing, but we personally didn't feel it was worth waking him up as well - we had a flight to catch fairly early the next morning.
Overall a fine, albeit somewhat sleepless experience. I'm hoping our Saturday night was an anomaly, and not the norm, but it's the only Saturday we experienced, so we have to comment on what we know. If you're in Berlin to party all night then the bar probably won't phase you, but if you like to sleep on weekend nights, I'd recommend bringing earplugs and a sleep mask (as well as an adjustable wrench in case you want to use the bikes!).
Bens apartment and hospitality create a real berlin experience. The apartment looks great and it is an unique place. For recommendations on what to do in the city you can easily check his door :) it was definitey a plus that we could borrow his bikes as well. We have seen so much because of this. Thanks Ben!
Ben's apartment is a unique space featuring lovely hardwood floors, plenty of quirky details and a superb matress. Everything was clean and tidy, and we immediately felt at home.
Four days definitely weren't enough to check out all his recommendations of things to do (we especially loved Mauerpark and the famous abandoned airport Tempelhof, as well as the scrambled eggs at Engels), but the bikes made us all the more flexible and were a great way of exploring this - surprisingly - very bike-friendly city.
Neukoelln is a relaxed, up-and-coming suburb with lots of cool cafes and bars popping up everywhere, and most of the hot spots are in close reach.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and felt very sorry to leave this cozy apartment and the amazing city that is Berlin. Finally it was the quick, straight-forward communication with Ben and his friendliness that made our stay so comfortable. Thanks, Ben!
What an incredible apartment. It is such a comfortable and inviting space. Thanks again for all of the incredible recommendations. We definitely recommend staying there and had a wonderful time.
We didn't meet Ben, but his friend met us at the flat to show us around and offer some great recommendations of local cafes and restaurants etc.
The apartment is quirky and everything was clean and tidy - it's a great spot to explore Berlin from.
The location is near some bars which can be a little noisy but it didn't disturb us and we slept well.
We highly recommend staying at Ben's apartment! The location, the hardwood floors, the fully accessorized kitchen and Ben who knows what are the true hot spots in Berlin. The DIY designs are beautiful. That's the place to be if you're in Berlin for a short time and want to experience it all!

About the Host, Benjamin
I am gone traveling most of the time, hence my place is available during that time. Born and raised in Germany I left when I was 21 Years old and went around the world for 3 Years. I have seen a lot of places and am looking forward to meet you and hear about where you have been. Hopefully Berlin soon.
