Beautiful BIG, Sunny, View, Central

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Veletržní, Prague, Prague 170 00, Czech Republic

The Space

The name says it all: this apartment is very sunny, quite big and simply furnished but beautiful. It is located right between two of Prague's most beautiful parks, Letna and Stromovka, the kings hunting range, ideal place for a day of rest after sightseeing. This is a fashionable lively area full of bars, restaurants and clubs. There is a noodle bar on the other side of the street, great bar just few doors down the street and a supermarket around the corner. The Prague Castle and the Old Town are about 20 minutes walk. If you are not up for walking, the tram stop is 2 minutes away and then just 10 minutes ride and you're in the center of Prague, Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square, Charles Bridge or Lesser Town, everything worth visiting.
The apartment is spacious, and very sunny with a view from the 5th floor. (with elevator) The building and the apartment were recently renovated. The apartment is fully furnished, has equipped kitchen with oven and a dishwasher, so you can comfortably prepare your dishes or snack and the bathroom has a tub. 5 to 6 people plus one or two small kids can stay there very comfortably. We have recently installed roll down curtains for our guests to enjoy longer sleep even in sunny mornings. The mattresses in the bedroom are new, offering even more comfortable sleep.
If you have any further questions, feel free to write to us, we will be very happy to help you.
We provide recommendation list of places we like in Prague such as non touristy but interesting places, restaurants, cafes and shops. We also offer airport pick up for E 25.

Guest Access

All the apartment, including the storage, where luggage can be put during the stay.

Interaction with Guests

We like to offer to our guests introduction to the city, explain where to find what in the neighbourhood and point places out on the map we provide. We live around the corner and if guests are up to it, we like to invite them over for a drink and chat. We are usually present and are ready to help. If we happen to be on vacation, we have always a contact person nearby.

The Neighborhood

This is a very nice residential area close to two parks, but does not lack places to hang out like nice restaurants, coffee places and bars. Also some of the best museums are around. The supermarket is around the corner and so is the great DM drugstore. One of our favourite places to enjoy a great cake is Erhartova cukrarna, great patisserie, which is located in the same block as our apartment.

Getting around

The city centre is within walking distance, it is actually a very nice walk thru the park down the hill with a view and across the bridge. By public transportation it is 4 stops by a direct tram to the edge of the old town. The tram stop is located around the corner from the apartment, next to the supermarket.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • We had a great time in Prague and this was also thanks to Idan and Marta, the warm welcome they gave us and their beautiful apartment. The house is nicely decorated and makes you feel at home, and we never had to take the bus because it's 20/30 min walking distance from all the main sites in town.

  • Good apartment! Easy to access the center. Many bars and Billa near by :о))))
Very friendly and helpful hosts. Everything was great! Thanks to Marta and Idan!

  • Idan and Marta helpfully arranged for a friend to check us in when we arrived because they were out of town that day. It was always easy to get hold of them with questions or to make arrangements (e.g. for checkout). They provided lots of information about the local area and the city in general. The apartment was in good condition and everything was as described/photographed. The heating is effective though I think we got confused by the controls on the thermostat! We noticed that even though the streets outside were noisy it was wonderfully peaceful inside the apartment. There is a fantastic bar/restaurant serving great Czech food a couple of doors away, on the way towards the tram stop, and there is also a well-stocked supermarket at the tram stop. We found everything very convenient and had a most enjoyable stay. If we come back to Prague I'd be more than happy to stay here again.

  • Idan is a great guy who was really helpful when we came and left the place, gave us some great tips on where to eat&drink in Prague, along with some other advice like avoiding the taxi ripoffs!

The apartment itself was also really nice, pretty spacious, clean, good location and everything worked as it should.

All in all we enjoyed our stay, and can definitely recommend Idan as a host and the flat!

  • Communication with landlord a little bit spotty and English is not the best. Neighborhood is about 25 min walk away from Old Town but could be quite a bit of a hike and the neighborhood is probably not in the best area of town (of course still safe). The apartment building itself also felt a little run down. Note that none of the beds are made for couples - even the large looking beds are just two beds stacked next to each other which makes couple sleeping a bit of a hassle. -------- Edit in Response: I gave overall positive ratings to this place. My comments are only made to provide a more holistic review to the stay and highlight certain aspects. Idan, please don't attack me personally, but correct me where I was wrong about your place: -It is about 25min walk to the OldTown (which we knew and was fine by us - just reiterating the walking time) -The blue beds pictured when we booked did indeed made it seem like it was a queen size bed instead of two singles stacked (not too tightly either). This might be confusing to couples looking to book a place -The apartment building (not apt.) did feel a bit Soviet style. Apologies if the neighborhood is one of the best but it did feel rather desolate when we checked in and at night. About the checkin time issue (which I didn't even mention in my review but since you mentioned this...) -I did not have time to get an European sim - I apologize for that -We also were tourists so we did go on a cooking tour from 2-6pm day of the checkin (our sole scheduled activity for the day and hard to change) -Communication was a problem because Idan did not respond to my email about checkin time. In the end, we had to (website hidden) him (not very efficient to use when on the move) -The number did not reach him first but a woman who's English was not optimal (but ok) -We offered to checkin before our tour but it's not possible. In the end, we offered to checkin when Idan was available, after our tour ended.
-Our tour ran later than expected and we called Idan ahead of time and had our tour guide speak in Czech to let him know we were running late by 1 hr and gave him a new time (Idan had told us night before to call him if we're running late) -We ended up arriving on time at the door in a deserted street, a bit worried that we were lost. Idan arrived 15min later (no biggie - that's why I didn't review this at first). -Overall, we think we were reasonable. We offered to arrive when Idan was available, proactively contacted him via all means possible, and gave him heads up when our travels was a bit late. Shame, because the place was large/sunny and we gave it good ratings...

    Response from Idan:

It does not happen very often, but every once in a while we get this: people book our relatively cheap accommodation {see some hostel prices} and expect a four star level. So if you want a prime centre location, building of a character and beds exactly to your liking, please book a hotel. Letna area is one of the best residential neighbourhoods in the city. Communicating with someone with an american phone who changes his check in time repeatedly, trying to squeeze it between a delayed tour and an evening show proofs to be difficult. The fact that English is not my mother tongue has nothing to do with it. No one complained until now.

A recommander absolument.

  • Great little place in an really cool part of Prague! We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time! The Billa supermarket just around the corner made it really easy to live in the this apartment as if it was your own! Idan and Marta were very helpful and easy going and a real pleasure to deal with! Great pace to stay and would definitely come back!

  • The apartment was great; simple but very large, there's a supermarket and some restaurants very nearby and it's not a touristic neighborhood so everything is affordable. Two small points of improvement: the apartment could use roll-down curtains in every room, and there should be a hook installed for the showerhead so that you don't have to hold it while taking a shower.
Apart from that everything was perfect. Marta was helpful by giving us advice and directions about the city. One of my friends lost something that belonged to the apartment and she was very considerate and relaxed in clearing this up! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Prague in a small group.

    Response from Idan:

Thanks for the nice review, we installed the roll down curtains shortly after you left. The hook for the shower is a good idea, not all the guests seem to be comfortable with the hand held shower. We are planning some more improvements in the place for the fall, this might be one of them.

  • Idan and Marta's guest apartment was in a location that made it very easy to get around Prague, and the neighborhood was enough off the city center where it wasnt a lot of tourists. The neighborhood is just a block from things you need such as the tram stop, grocery, bakery, post office, and a couple pharmacies. You are also walking distance to a beer garden, a some good restaurants. If you want to walk to the city center, I'de say it takes about 20+ min, but completely doable.
Marta was a wonderful host, even when it took us an extra 30-45min to meet her on the 1st day. She helped us find which bus we needed to catch when we planned a day trip to Kutna Hora, as well.
The apartment has everything you would need for your stay. If I had to comment on anything, I would say maybe some heavier curtains or blinds for sunny mornings, and newer mattresses. For our stay of 4 nights, they were just fine, but if we were staying for a week or two, some may be abit sore.
Overall, fantastic apartment, great host, awesome city!

  • Thanks for the great stay. I spent 3 nights in Prague with 3 of my friends.
Idan's apartment is well located within a 15 min walk to the old city center. His recommendations for restaurants were great as well. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.
