Interaction with Guests
My work schedule varies from week to week. I'm a musician, teacher, and audio engineer - I’m usually out working during the day, but occasionally work on projects or teach music lessons at home in the afternoons. I’m always available by phone or text message if you need something. I love getting to know my guests and enjoy having travelers in my home.
My place is located in Brooklyn’s diverse, multicultural and bustling neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant, an eclectic area that is quickly becoming the go-to neighborhood of Brooklyn.
You’ll be right by the C local train at Kingston-Throop Ave, which will take you to lower Manhattan in 15 minutes and to midtown (areas like Times Square and Central Park) in 25-30 minutes.
The neighborhood is well-lit and safe to walk around at all times.
On my block, there is a café, a pharmacy, a large supermarket, two laundromats, a fruit and vegetable market, a healthcare center, 24/7 convenience stores, a liquor store, among other restaurants, and a variety of shops There is also a park directly behind the apartment.
It’s a short walk to trendy bars, cafés, and restaurants, shopping, as well as a large supermarket with an ample organic selection.
Additionally, it’s a quick bus or train ride to Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Bridge, Barclay’s Center (home of the Brooklyn Nets) and to the Willamsburg, Fort Greene, and Downtown Brooklyn neighborhoods.
The apartment is right next to the C train at Kingston-Throop Avenue. The C train will take you to lower Manhattan in 15 minutes and to Midtown with areas like Times Square and Columbus Circle (Central Park) in 25-30 minutes.
Both JFK and LaGuardia airports are about 20 minutes away via cab, depending on traffic (it usually costs around $30). These airports can also be reached via public transportation, which takes about an hour.
It’s also a 6 minute walk to the A express train at Nostrand Ave and a 12 minute walk or a quick bus ride to the 3 train at Kingston Ave.
The B25 and B43 bus stops right in front of my building, taking you to Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn, and Williamsburg.
There is plenty of free parking around the building.
Other Things to Note
There is no elevator. If you are concerned about carrying your luggage up or down the stairs (there are three flights), we're more than happy to help - we have lots of practice. :)
-Take off your shoes at the door (you're welcome to leave your shoes there).
-No food or drinks in the music room, particularly around the piano.
This was my first time using airbnb, and I had a great stay at Summer's place; she is an amazing host. Her apartment is tidy and well kept; shops and restaurants are nearby, everything is at your feet. No need to walk long distances to the metro station, it was 30 seconds away from the apartment.
I would definitely come back again and recommend this place.
Le quartier est idéalement situé. Les photos parfaitement conforme. Et Summer est une hote très accueillante et arrangeante, l'accueil est très bien.
L'appartement est très propre et je recommande ce logement de très bon rapport qualité prix
Summer was an excellent host and everything in her apartment was as described. We saw her twice and she was very accommodating, giving directions into the city, and making sure we had enough room (our 15 year old son was traveling with us.) - we did have enough room; her small apartment was actually very spacious! It was thoroughly modern, immaculate, and it was especially helpful that she had dairy-free items in her fridge for breakfast.
Summer and Joao are absolutely great. They really made us feel like home and provided us with everything we needed including tips and advice all around Brooklyn and NYC in general. We arrived pretty late due to flight-delays which was not a problem thanks to Summer. The apartment is very cosy and superclose to the subway which takes you straight to Manhattan as well. It has been an amazing week and we will definitely be back.
I had a fantastic time in this wonderful area of New York. Summer was the perfect hostess and is around to answer questions and help with queries. Would highly recommend to any traveller who is looking both for a home away from home and a fantastic NYC experience. Many thanks again!
Summer's home is perfect in every aspect.
Summer and her boyfriend are one of the most welcoming and warm people I had met.
Around the corner of subway station. Very nice and safe neighborhood. Tons of good places in the area.
Summer suggested local bar called Bed-Vyne brew and it's very unique bar to visit. (They had a DJ playing lounge music when I visited)
Extremely neat and clean place. I would definitely stay again at Summer's.
Summer is an amazing host, so helpful and nice! Her apartment is super cozy and we felt really comfortable while there. The aparment is in such a great location, with the subway station so close. We had a great stay, thanks Summer!
I'm a musician, audio engineer, and music teacher who teaches around the NYC area.
I love having travelers stay in my home and look forward to meeting you.
