Other Things to Note
Complimentary Tea, coffee and mineral water.
Extra food available on request - the best local cuisine in town!
Not too many.....please do not take the towels out of the house.
When in Asia use a sarong on the beach - it dries quicker and a towel becomes cumbersome.
The kitchen is for general use, so please keep it tidy and clean.
Same with the terrace and communal areas - be kind to your environment and smile a lot!!
Belinda was a very welcoming and laid back host. We had a lot of freedom to do as we wished and she was most accommodating. Also, Kumara and Chamila, who help run the house, couldn't have been more friendly. Kumara is a great cook - so I recommend eating a lot of your meals at home.
Belinda was the perfect host with the perfect place! Absolutely welcoming, she gave us all informations and recommondations we were looking for and we had here the best starting point for our trip through Sri Lanka we could hoped for! The house is like a second home. The rooms are very nice furnitured, the garden and the "dining room" outside under a roof is totally comfortable - everything is perfectly relaxed. The house is around 15min to walk away from the beach but you will definitely appreciate the opportunity to get a little insight into the areas away from the busy and touristic main street when you walk the different ways through the back country - we enjoyed it every single day - the neighbourhood is like a walk through a beautiful inhabited jungle! We've been there for 5 days and it was the best to get acclimatized! The beach by the way is absolutely stunning in Dodanduwa. At least in march you have parts of the endless and very clean beach almost on your own and if you are not that much into bigger hotels and many people (what Hikkaduwa is more of that) you will have the perfect spot just around the corner! We totally recommend Belinda's place! Thank you so much Belinda. We hope very much to come back!!
Belinda's house is in a very peaceful and quiet little neighborhood in Hikkadua. It will cost about 1000 lkr for a tuk tuk from Galle. The beach is a short walk from the house, and a cheap tuk tuk taxi to the main town area. The room is basic but comfortable and very clean. Belinda is a lovely and very warm and generous host. Though she was busy during the period of our stay, she took the time to graciously attend to us and give us suggestions of things to see and do. I would recommend this place for someone wanting a quiet retreat by the coast in a welcoming house.

About the Host, Belinda
Having had a very busy life - now starting to call down a bit..... sort of.
I have four grown up kids who have taken over my life for a long time - and I have been running a busy production company in Spain for many years.
My favourite pass-times are traveling and food. When at my place you will eat well, for sure.
I want to make it special when you come and stay - I appreciate constructive criticism .
I love quirky people - love sudden spurts of madness and letting my hair down, but am quite calm and responsible most of the time . If there is a live concert it will take me out and i will probably be the last one home, but otherwise I don't go out much.
I am one to mix in with the locals and love the local food and markets - will spend hours chatting and finding out more - I help a charity in Hikkaduwa called Manacare - they do great things - I just give them my love and help a little if i can.
I love to read - real life experiences - travel books - all about Asia.
I am a bit of an artist and love all form of art - from photography, to painting , though fabric design and interior design and recently have been making 'mandalas' which I find very therapeutic.
My motto: smile and be happy and dont interfere in how others lead their lives - we are all different!
