We are a Bed and NO Breakfast hostel. Perro Surfero has three individual rooms (can host two people per room) with private bathrooms and showers, exclusive outdoor sitting space, an area for surfing equipment, a small gym, and plenty of sunny/shaded areas for your enjoyment. We also have a brand new pool and a beautiful big commune kitchen. Perro Surfero currently offers great rates as part of its soft opening.
Our beautiful and private property is filled with colorful plants and palm trees. The property is located just a few minutes away from the town of Todos Santos. It’s within walking distance of quiet, secluded, and endless beaches. A 10-minute drive will also take you to one of the best surfing breaks in the area.
We wanted to create a space where our guests could feel at home and enjoy the comforts of home. All rooms come equipped with very comfortable beds, linens and towels. The property has many areas for you to explore. Take some sun on our oversized sun beds, kick back on our giant sized sofa bed, exercise in the indoor/outdoor gym, jump into the pool and after you sweat or surf, enjoy a cold shower in the outdoor shower. At night you are welcome to curl up around the fire pit and share stories with your new friends. Explore different cuisines with your friends from around the globe by sharing your homemade meals in our larger than life kitchen, equipped with everything you need to create culinary masterpieces. Food is one of our biggest passions, and sharing good food with good people will create deep and lasting friendships.
We also have some extra beach goodies for your use as our guests: sun umbrellas, cooler bags, and an 8ft foam surf board.
Interaction with Guests
This is my home and my dream, everybody with good energy is welcome. This is a place to chill and surf.
"Our thoughts are like waves, we can't stop them from coming but we can choose which one to surf…"
We are in a very colorful and dynamic Mexican neighborhood. Travel back in time when life was simple, everything was "fixable", people dressed comfortably and ate simply and you have arrived in Todos Santos. We are close to the main town. Walking distance to the beach and to restaurants, cafes and more.
Do not forget your earplugs if you dont like chickens waking you up early
We highly recommend that you rent a car when you come to Baja. There is so much to see and explore here when you get out of the "box", and we are happy to give you some tips on where to go, what to do, and where to eat.
Other Things to Note
Taxes will be payed separated and in cash.
We are absolutely pet friendly. (Not tigers please!!). All we ask is that you treat our place like your own home.
All rooms are non-smoking. Please feel free to light up outside, on your patio.
It was a very beautiful place to stay. A Mediterranean feel. We slept very well and really enjoyed looking over town and watching the sunsets from the rooftop deck! There were a few small hick ups with hot water, but Mauricio was very nice and responsive. I recommend this place!
Our stay at Perro Surfero was wonderful. Mao was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home. We were able to borrow the surfboards and take them out for the day, which was a fun addition to our trip. Town is about 10 minutes walking (on a rather dusty/hilly road), but with a car its very easy to access. Overall, great stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Perro Surfero. Mao has created a very special and unique place in a quiet residential area of Todos Santos and it's obvious that he put a lot of care into every detail of the place The neighborhood was close to the downtown area of Todos Santos, and I liked that it wasn't in a touristy zone. There is a nice short walk to a beautiful beach close by. We also really enjoyed cooking in the nice, big kitchen. I would recommend Perro Surfero to anyone, and we will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
The place is well designed. It's gorgeous. We loved staying here.
Every part of our stay at Perro Surfero was special. What a GREAT vision Mauricio has created there----lots of ideas to take home:) He was quick to help us in every way possible from dinner recommendations to surf board rentals and special beach spots. We are even considering hosting a retreat there in the future. Very sweet space! We will be back. Nasha and Steve
Perro Surfero (Room Tortuga) was the perfect place for a week away from the Portland winter (not that it's been a bad winter this year, but still). The room was cute and comfortable, with its own front deck. The communal areas were also comfortable and well designed, and include a fairly large, well-stocked communal outdoor kitchen.
Location is very convenient with a car, outside the center of town, but with a few markets and eating establishments just a few blocks away. It's probably a 15 min walk to both town and the closest beach.
Mauricio ("Mau") was a great host. He keeps out of your hair, but is responsive and ready to help if needed. He even brought us a few bottles of electrolyte drink (totally of his own accord) when he heard that my husband was having a little stomach trouble.
The only thing I would have changed was the road work being done right out front, as it was a bit loud. But, I'm sure that won't last long and will definitely be worth it when done. (The roads in and around Todos Santos aren't the greatest.)
Perro Surfero was ideal for us, simple and elegant and convenient and good value. You have as much privacy or social interaction with the other guests as you choose. Close to a great coffee shop/breakfast place/social hub, minutes to drive into town. Mauricio is a great host and happy to help with anything you need, we will definitely stay in 'Tortuga' again!
So great to meet you guys! We loved your energy and you inspired us with your adventurous spirit to drive your little rental car all over the peninsula (to places we didn't think little cars could go) ;). And yes, you are right I think it's time to let that little cactus go (we were just so touched that it "kind of" survived the hurricane that we couldn't bring ourselves to letting it go). Hope to see you guys again! Besos to your little toe….All the best, Liz and Mao
