It's a basic campground. We weren't very impressed by cleanliness as lots of trash had been scattered near trash cans--probably by animals (but certainly not moved/cleaned during our rather short stay). We also arrived after the sun had set and it was very difficult to find the campground and where we should check in. If you just need somewhere to lay your head, it's not bad. The area itself is very nice and we were happy to experience this part of northern California.
Mendocino Campground was beautiful and easy to access. The campsites were flat and mostly private and each had a picnic table to use. The woman's bathroom was pretty clean, but my boyfriend told me that the mens bathroom was incredibly dirty. It had everything we needed, but the campground had a lot of trash on the ground and putting up a few more signs would make a huge difference (especially a the entrance).
A low-key campsite that was perfect for our weekend getaway from the city. Each site was fairly large, equipped with a picnic table and a fire pit. The place was very quiet and the bathrooms were clean. The manager was also very nice. We really enjoyed it- highly recommended.
This campsite is great. Get there early and stake claim to a site that is off the beat and path. The hosts are good, yet relatively hands-off which I didn't mind at all.
Mendocino is a wondrous place. It's was great to be camping under giant redwoods although we spent much of the night scouting for firewoods to keep the amber alive. It is a place to spent more than one night to really appreciate the Mendo way of life. Hope to visit the area again soon.
Great camping location! Nov 15th is probably a low season in general but we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Local proximity is great-- beach nearby, as well as town and many hiking options. Sites come with a picnic table and fire ring. We heard the ocean during our stay. Look forward to coming back!
This campground is an excellent value for being close to the town of Mendocino. We were treated by a host when we arrived and ended up camping next to the campground manager who was very nice. This campground is very dog friendly and chill. Mendocino is walking distance if you don't mind walking over a bridge, and we were lucky to find available spots here when other campgrounds were full on a holiday weekend. I would definately stay here again.
