The artist apt was a simple, minimalistic, eclectic space. It photographs well. Amenities are primitive, but functioning. It was quite the quirky stay. The apt is in a courtyard setting. There is a shhh-sher neighbor above. Chau leaves notes about it in the manual and in the house. Nonetheless, it leaves you feeling like you are walking around on eggshells. The location is wonderful... other than the upstairs neighbor. BEWARE* checking in is tricky. The address displayed on the listing is incorrect... it is actually a street east. I had to find that out while standing out on the street in the rain at 2:30am after a long night of traveling. Very frustrating. The correct address is on the house manual you are sent after booking. Chau is aware of this, but says he's unable to fix it.
Chau's place was ideal for it's decor, location, natural light, and PARKING. Luckily I was driving a tiny convertible and so getting in and out of back spot was no sweat. I was there to visit friends for one week and the location is centrally located. Plus you can walk to Santa Monica and LA Cienega. Bathroom walls need TLC. No TV.
This was a short business trip with a colleague and Chao's place was a cool, unique stay close to Santa Monica and Sunset Blvd – tons to do and eat within walking distance. Chao was VERY detailed and helpful and made our stay a breeze. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the heater when we first arrived, and we couldn't find the extra pair of sheets for the fold-out but Chao was very responsive and quick to stop by and help us. His written recommendations on nearby restaurants is extensive and reason enough to come back. We weren't home much due to work our schedule but this was great for our short stay and anyone looking for a quiet place to stay.
Key hand off was easy.
To be honest I was disappointed in the apt. It was too rustic for the price, bathroom had mildew and rust stains everywhere and the ceiling over the bathtub leaked repeatedly. There lights are all really dim, so if you are a girl who needs to put on make up steer clear. Would not recommend this apt.
Beautiful & artistic home. Very creative and quaint.
Location is pretty central, but a car is required when travelling L.A.
Place comes with a car spot which is very convenient. Though we did not meet Chau, he has provided very clear & concise instructions and great recommendations.
Thank you Chau!
Our stay at Chau's apartment was fantastic. Throughout the entire process Chau was very communicative and responsive. We had a late check-in which worked perfectly. The location of the apartment was great. Amazing spot in west Hollywood and even with a bus stop only minutes away. The apartment itself was really nice with a lot of character. There was plenty of space, great facilities (bathroom, kitchen, heating etc) and we would definitely come back and stay at Chau's. Thanks for an amazing stay in LA.
Chau's apartment was easy to find, perfectly clean, and perfect for a long weekend around Hollywood. As is to be expected in an old building, you can hear the neighbors - but this didn't diminish our appreciation for the carefully decorated and spacious rooms. The guide Chau provides has fantastic restaurant suggestions. We tried Red Medicine on Wilshire, and it was one of the strangest and most fun eating experiences I have ever had. The Sunday morning farmer's market at the end of the street by Melrose was an added bonus.
The reservation was canceled 25 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Chau's place is a great spot to stop and rest in lively WeHo.
