Hi we are Karina & Mathias!
Being a devoted airbnb employee and an experienced host, we hope to make your stay in Copenhagen more than worthwhile.
- Welcome to our space and please read the houserules beforehand.
We offer a small adorable room in the trendy part of Copenhagen named Nørrebro. The area is the essence of the Scandinavian urban lifestyle, where cafes, takeaways, music, parks and specialty stores sets the frame. The area of Nørrebro will give you the unspoiled Copenhagen experience.
The room is bright and furnished with a bed for two, a desk and has a view over the neighborhood square park.
The room comes with a shared bathroom.
The bathroom is classic "copenhagen style/small". This means that it is very small, but it has everything you need. Most bathrooms in Copenhagen are this way because of the old buildings and architecture.
The apartment is situated on the 4th floor in a walk up building.
We will provide towels, pillows, blankets.
Laundry can be done at several places around the neighborhood.
Everything is close by, we are a 7 minutes bus ride away from the City hall-square, a 10 min bike ride from "Nørreport" and the main shopping street + A short walk away from the lakes.
The famous Assistens Cemetery is just a 5 min. walk away. Here you can visit the grave of H.C. Andersen and Niels Bohr -And of course enjoy the beautiful surrounding park.
On your way there, you can walk through the spectacular Jægersborgsgade/street. In this street you can dine at Relæ restaurant, a budget choice. Relæ is mentioned in the New York times as a "must try" because of the amazing food created by a former chef at Noma (The worlds best resturant).
Free parking space just outside the building! Public transport is a breeze from here! Plenty of options for renting bikes!
We enjoy sharing travel experiences and culture! - We will do everything in our power to make this a great experience for both parts!
The apartment is very clean and completely renovated!
Please send us a message with a bit of info when booking!
The Karina and Matthias apartment complies with the announcement: clean and socket.
We had a great time staying at Karina's. The room was more than sufficient and the accomodation was well connected to the city centre by bus. Only thing is that the room was somewhat small, but as we spend most of our time outdoors, we didn't experienced it as a inconvience. So, it's a good cost/value option!
lovely place, nice room nice deco I love Copenhagen/ oh yeah
Had a great time in Copenhagen !
Karina and Mathias' place is very nice and located in a great neighborhood.
They were very helpful and gave us good tips about where to go and what to see.
Can only recommend the place :)
Great experience. Karina and Mathias were wonderful hosts. Our room was nice, clean and well located. We enjoyed it very much. Thank you so much guys!
Karina and Mathias' place was as described in the presentation; The flat is really well decorated and super clean. They gave us many useful tips on Kopenhagen. It was a great stay there.
Our stay at Karina and Mathias' was great! They were super nice hosts. They shared their best tips of Copenhagen with us, and made our stay great.
Their place is beautiful and very clean, in a very nice quiet square. It is right next to Jægersborgsgade where you can enjoy the best food and coffee.
Karina was on a business trip but we got to meet Matthias and he's a great guy. He helped us with directions and train schedules and we had great conversations with him.
The bathroom is really just a sink and a toilet with a shower hose and is the size of a shower stall. So it's not comfortable but adequate.
It wasn't clear what we could have for breakfast: Matthias showed us the coffee, the tea and the kettle, but then just said that we could keep our own food in the fridge. So you might want to check whether or not you need to buy bread before your arrival.
The bathroom had no mirror (which makes shaving difficult), and the bedroom only had a small desk mirror. But there is one full length mirror next to the front door. Which is not very convenient.
Excellent up and coming neighborhood (have lunch at Manfred's! but careful with food in Denmark in general, the tax on food is 25% and coffee at Coffee Collective 5 euros...), close to a lot of bus stops. We walked to the center every chance we got.
Overall, a good experience.
Hi Elsa, I am very sorry that you and your partner did not find it satisfactory in our apartment. We have been hosting for 3 years and we do this purely because we want to give people a great stay in Copenhagen.
Here is our response to your critique:
The bathroom is very small which is mentioned several times and visualized in the listing description. If you had read the information before booking with us, you would not have been surprised. As a side note, Copenhagen is a very old city and most bathrooms in the central part is like this. That is just a part of living in a local neighborhood and not in a hotel.
Regarding the coffee/bread, I am not sure why you raise this issue. We offer coffee and tea as a courtesy to our guests. We do not offer a full breakfast and have never claimed to do so. I have no clue why you can turn this around into something negative.
Also, Denmark is a very expensive country. That is common knowledge.
However, I do not see what the tax pressure has to do with the review of our guest room?
I honestly wish that you would have read the listing description more thoroughly before booking our room. Because it seems that our place is not what you were looking for. On that note, it would have been more constructive if you had communicated your issues to Mathias instead of merely raising these in the review.
Karina and Matthias are a lovely couple and we really enjoyed spending close to a week at their apartment in Copenhagen. The apartment is clean, pretty and located in a nice quirky neighborhood called Norrebro. The main city center is accessible via 3 different buses so there's no need to worry about long commuting hours to the main sites. The only thinkable 'flaw' about the apartment is the shower, which was in the same space as the toilet, but honestly that didn't bother us at all (who needs a bathtub anyway?). We would really recommend this place for all going to Copenhagen!
Karina's apartment is so clean and cutely decorated, and I loved the neighborhood of Nørrebro, too. She was a very sweet and helpful host (she left delicious a Marzipan chocolate on my pillow, such a thoughtful touch!), and I enjoyed getting to know her and Mathias. They answered all of my questions, and made sure I had an amazing time in Copenhagen! I highly recommend staying with them when you visit Copenhagen!
